“On”, please.
Add me to the list, please.
Read one a couple of years back where they were talking about a wood gasification.(sp?) It was interesting until the author started ranting about with this process there was no need for gas, oil, coal or anything else. We could just trot down to our local sawmill and they would give us all the scrap wood we could want.
Ummm no.
It only works as long as there is no other market for the scrap. The moment a tipping point is reached the lumber mill would start charging for the wood and there would be a shortage.
Take the guys who wanted to make fuel out of turkey guts. It was a fine idea as long as they got the offal for free, even better if the plants paid them to haul it away. But... the moment there was a demand the processing facilities began charging.
Ok, I will get off my soap box now.
But I do like the idea.
Looks like you’ll have to make some changes.
Received via e-mail:
Greetings and Good Day to you.
We are delighted to be included with such fine company as the fine folks
of Free Republic in our endeavor to educate and inspire the preparedness
community. We applaud your enthusiasm and tireless effort.
Today a thread from your forum was emailed to us regarding a potentially
new project. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/3008913/posts
We do need to bring to your attention that a magazine with that almost
exact font and name does in fact already exist and has for over a year.
Written by fantastic professional and amateur writers who are all on a
preparedness journey. By preppers for preppers (and the un-aware as well).
After a year in digital (free) the first print issue is being mailed as
you read this. http://www.PrepareMag.com
To avoid confusion or infringement, you may need to look at other options
for your publication. As you can see the font and name of this established
publication are quite similar to your suggested project.
With other publications out there such as Self-Reliance Illustrated, Back
Woods Home and the Prepared Times e-zine, we certainly don’t believe
anyone has a corner on preparedness. We just don’t want to have any
confusion between publications.
We know you have a lot to offer and appreciate your attention to this
matter. We bring it up to make sure we are all serving those who want to
get prepared in the least confusing and most helpful way possible.
Of course we would be delighted for your readership and yourself to
contribute articles and thus allow your voice and expertise to be shared.
Please browse around the site and see what there is already offered and if
there is a place you would care to be involved.
Thank you again for your attention to this matter.
Yours in Service,
PREPARE Magazine Managing Editor
I wasn’t aware of the similarities (I’d never been to “Prepare Magazine”), but I’ve already been in contact with “Prepare” and Jim Robinson. Fortunately, since this is our project, we can call it whatever we want.
A few clicks in Photoshop and we’ll feel all better.
And no, I won’t be “contributing any articles” to them. This is a project among FRiends.
Not gonna go with this, but now it's been "changed", pending the final name. "Prepare Magazine" can rest easy.
Add me. Thanks
Excellent idea. Please add me to your ping list.
That might sell magazines...
Great idea & look forward to the first edition!
Add me to the ping list please

Wonderful idea! More timely than ever.
Not sure what I can do, but keep me informed, please.
