Men came to recover Ford Mustang, deputies say

A Flagler County woman has been arrested after deputies say she chased away two men who came to repossess her Ford Mustang with a rifle.

Victoria Higgins has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after she fired shots at the vehicle repossession workers at her home on Mahoganey Bouelvard in Daytona North on Tuesday afternoon.

But as soon as they backed the truck into the driveway - they were met with a .22 caliber rifle, according to Flager County Sheriff's Office.

Higgins fired one round at the ground and ordered the men to get off her property, according to the report.

Police say Higgins then left in the Mustang and was soon found walking towards a local intersection. The car and the rifle were later found at her mother-in-law's house.

Higgins was charged and sent to the Flagler County Inmate Facility where she is being held on $10,000 bond.

Firing one round into the ground is not the same as “fired shots at the vehicle repossession workers” which was it one into the ground or multiple at the reposessor? Stupid Reporter!

When someone has a car repossessed, it’s a legal process. So, if someone interferes in a legal process like that - they’re definitely going to end up in jail!

She could have simply sat in the car and that would have stopped it for a few minutes ... LOL ... but the police can be called to force her out of the car. No matter what the woman did, it wasn’t going to stop this legal process.

“When someone has a car repossessed, it’s a legal process. So, if someone interferes in a legal process like that - they’re definitely going to end up in jail!”

About a million years ago, I went to repossess some equipment for the company I was Credit mgr. for. The guy (biggest dude I ever saw!) pulled a pistol on me and knocked our shop boss to the ground. So I left and called the cops. They refused to even talk to the guy. They did nothing, would not allow us to press charges. I hope it’s not that way in most places.

If someone does you wrong, under the guise of the law, get even, and don’t get caught.

Grammar and sentence construction obviously is no longer taught in schools, including journalism classes.

A Flagler County woman has been arrested after deputies say she chased away two men who came to repossess her Ford Mustang with a rifle.

According to that sentence, these two men came with a rifle to repossess her Ford Mustang.

Did they let the guy get away with the larceny?

How is a person supposed to know this is a repo? I have seen what they pass for repo services on TV reality. Granted it is TV, but those people are violating the law in every single episode without exception.

There has to be more to this story.

Are you sure? Because I was thinking the Ford Mustang had the rifle.

Right, when some deadbeat doesn’t pay her debt and then threatens to shoot you, get even and don’t get caught. Follow her next time she goes to the store and take the car while she’s inside. Then call the cops and get her arrested for assault with a deadly weapon. Then sue her for the additional money she owes you on top of what the car’s worth. Then go have a drink while her stupid, broke, ass is sitting in jail.

Do you mean did he keep the merchandise? Yes, he kept it, but I found assets, sued him and collected. But he should have spent a night or two in jail.

nice try.

most modern repo services get a flat fee from the bank.

They also use plate readers to track cares in shopping malls by just driving through.

If they don’t get the job done then it just gets passed on to the next service.

Unless they have a court “break order”, they can not legall cross a fenced, chained or enclosed area.

Yes, the assaults should have counted for something.

My husband and I totally freaked out the repo man who came to get the pickup. I was on the upstairs deck and hollered down to him to wait a minute and I would send my husband out with the keys.............

We had begged the bank for months to take the danged thing - but they didn’t want it, just their money and we didn’t have any at the time.

If one evades the repo men long enough, the creditor will simply file larceny charges for the property. I knew someone who was evading getting their car repossessed, and gave up the chase when they got the registered letter.
