The problem with Syria is that there are no good options

Be careful about promises because someone is likely to remind you of them. Remember when President Obama issued a warning, the "red line" in Syria? The game changer statement?

It looks like someone crossed the line and US intelligence agencies agrees that they have.

President Obama is buying time arguing about what the definition of what a "red line" is. The bottom line is that the line was crossed and everyone is looking for President Obama's next move!

The reality is that Syria is one of those impossible problems reserved for presidents. And the "problem" just landed in the Oval Office.

What do you do?

I disagree. I don't think we need do anything. It's not our problem. Let the arabs in the region solve the problem. To stop muslims from killing muslims is not worth one drop of precious American blood. We've already spilled far, far too much in support of those animals!

What the hell is the Arab League for if they aren’t going to deal with it.

Of course there are good options.

Gimme 20 medim large thermonuclear warheads with delivery, and I’ll show them to you for free.

There is one good option: Let them kill each other. Neither side are the good guys.

Amen! I’m sick and tired of the whole world criticizing and hating us for our involvement in the world, while at the same time EVERY time there’s a problem we’re the first one who’s expected to ‘fix’ it! I say screw them all and let them solve their own problem. And if muslims kill each other down to the last man, so much the better.

Like many other here, I don't want to see us get involved in Syria. That being said, Obama should have never mouthed off about his "Red Line" if he wasn't going to back it up. Now, North Korea, Iran, China, and the rest of the world know that his ultimatums mean absolutely nothing.

Those countries have been laughing at us ever since we elected the 'strapping young muslim socialist'! It's no surprise to our enemies or our allies that we've become the ultimate paper tiger.

So: We should stop Muslims from killing each other so they can concentrate their killings on Christians???????

What we need to do here is stay The hell out of this mess that Obama helped to stir up.

We have already done far more than enough and got 4 Americans killed for it.

What red line was crossed? Did Assad use chemical weapons? Or was it the rebels who used them and blamed it on Assad?
Were Chemical weapons used at all? Do we believe Obama more than we believed Bush when he declared WMD’s were in the hands of Hussein? Obama is waiting for someone else to carry this farther so that he can keep his hands clean.
Hands that were involved in the Egyptian mess the Libya mess and this mess.

Remember when Obama said Al Quaeda is dea? Why arent we hearing that wrong statement tossed at him over and over and over.Meanwhile he is planning his Martha’s Vineyard vacation.

We need to make the so called “chemical weapons plant” a smoking hole, and let them keep killing each other.

Agreed. The next problem, however, may be that these chemical weapons show up in NY, Boston, etc. instead of pressure cooker bombs full of nails and ball bearings.

It’s almost as if you want the Iran / Iraq war solution: If one side seems likely to lose, help them. Then if the tables turn, help their opponent.

Run guns to whichever side is losing to maximize the damage.

I realize that’s extremely cynical, but I expect that as soon as they are done, the revert to murdering innocent Westerners. Let Syria be a Jihadi magnet, where they all die in the trap.

There are good options

Support each side just enough to maintain a balance of power.

let jihadis for an entire generation go to Syria to their deaths.

Keep Iran, Saudi Arabia and Turkey occupied.

Most of all, keep anyone from the region out of the United States.

Its a win-win for the USA.

It is ironically amusing to watch THE WON squirm now that his “red line” and “gamechanger” have occurred. We wait now in anticipation for his new excuses for voting present instead of leading, just like he always does.

Would someone from this administration please stand up and explain their actions in the Middle East? Is that just too damned hard for them to do? They work for me. If the employees in my business started firing weapons in a warehouse, I would ask them what they were doing. Why are these employees any different? I don’t see a gold crown on Obama’s head where he doesn’t have to explain his actions to the citizens of The United States.

When it comes to Mudslimes, I’m a complete cynic. That’s exactly what I want. The more of them dead, the fewer enemies we have. If the regime blunders into that kind of a policy, then it’s blundered into a good one.
