HONG KONG, - Thousands of people snapped pictures of a 54-foot-tall rubber duck floating in Hong Kong's Victoria Harbor.

The inflatable duck, created by Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman, raised a stir and attracted crowds of hundreds when it floated into the harbor while a brass band played at Ocean Terminal, CNN reported Friday.

"Hong Kong has been changed forever," the artist said.

Hofman said the duck may look like a giant children's toy but it is meant to appeal to adults.

"I see it as an adult thing. It makes you feel young again. It refers to your childhood when there was no stress or economic pressure, no worry about having to pay the rent," Hofman said.

His "Rubber Duck" has previously visited countries including Japan, Australia, Brazil and the Netherlands.

Hofman said the duck's next destination will be the United States but the exact location is being kept a secret.

Only two possible destinations: New York or San Francisco.

Am I the only one here who would love to see the duck take part in a carrier fleet exercise?

No, the Chinese would never think of transporting their virus to the US in that thing.

enough food, a small motor, an air and human waste system...

might be cool to be the first to cross an ocean in a rubber duck

” “Hong Kong has been changed forever,” the artist said.”

Yeah, right. I’m sure future historians will pinpoint the change of Hong Kong to the time some “artist” floated a giant rubber duck in the harbor.
