San Antonio Park police violently beat a woman who had walked into the wrong room at a gas station, then arrested her brother for trying to video record the altercation.

They also deleted the footage from her brother’s camera while charging the woman with felony assault on a peace officer.

But her brother managed to recover the footage that contradicts the police version of the story.

Christina Oliver, who ended up with a broken nose and black eye, told her story to KENS 5:

It was downright venomous at one time and we who knew were in the clear minority. If not minority then an awful lot of people wouldn’t speak up.

"I have been asked, many times, why I never weep for a fallen LEO."

That's creepy. Who gets asked not once, but "many times" if they weep for a fallen LEO?

A widespread revolution by armed American citizens against an oppressive government might succeed.

I wish my father were still here, been gone 10 years. A 3 war Marine with knowledge of the principles of guerrilla warfare/resistance. I'd like to get his perspective on things here now.

I'm thinking, and this is simple opinion only as I have no claim to special knowledge of this area, that in a country like the US, as large and geographically diverse as it is, that a "revolution" or something of that order would take the form of covert resistance. Sabotage, hit & run, tactics of that nature. Death by a thousand pinpricks. Wouldn't have to be big stuff, just a lot and spread out. Like chasing horseflies. The occupying forces can never keep up with it.

I sincerely hope things never get to that stage. OTOH, the left never stops at a certain point. They never get enough. They only stop taking liberties when they are stopped.

One or twice, understandable. Many times? Creepy.

Just cause they are cops, doesn't give them the right to beat the crap out of someone after gaining control over them.

It does give them the right to lose their jobs however. The problem is when you inculcate an environment of overwhelming force and the officer is always right you attract sadistic bullies. Such psychopathic tendencies need to be carefully weeded from the system or the public will loose its trust in Authority. Not punishing these well documented excesses taints the entire police force.

Here's to hope we never find out.

In any such revolution it is likely at least 1/3 of Americans would be on the side of the government, not to mention most of the police, cops, etc. Since the government in power would presumably be such by winning an election, its supporters might be a considerable majority.

"Winning" such a civil war would require crushing that 1/3, which would more or less by definition mean using methods that would pretty much obviate the principles of freedom and democracy the revolutionaries are fighting for. How does one run a revolution for democratic principles against a majority?

IOW, any such war would not be a sectional war, as our "Civil War" was, but a more normal type of ideological civil war, with all the horrors of atrocity and counter-actrocity those entail.

Let's try to avoid doing this. :)

You are jesting, are you not?

Not only are those officers responsible for turning the Mexican ladies’ truck and the other guy’s truck into Swiss cheese not going to be criminally charged, they will be promoted later down the road. From the police pont of view, the only mistakes that were made is that all three victims survived.

The woman kept hitting the officer on his fist with her eye.

Had she not been restrained she might have walked into another room and we know where that might lead!

Oppressive governments have been brought down by civil disobedience on large scale. There are lots of ways for civil disobedience to take place that are very difficult to combat. Large scale doesn't mean "in mass". And it doesn't have to be overt. Just a lot of it. Again, the death by a thousand pink pricks. Sort of a "nickle & dime them to death".

Lots of ways to make the wheels of society grind slower and slower. Just have to have enough pissed off people realize they each can do seemingly little things that add up to real sand in the gears of the oppressive machine.

In a way, what is happening, and will happen because of ObamaCare is almost "civil disobedience". We are being forced to become a nation of people and businesses finding ways to avoid or work around oppressive laws that will put us out of business or starve us if we don't. In one sense, that is civil disobedience. Oppressive laws and taxes have driven so much of the Italian economy underground that the government can't get a functional level of revenue, or control of the economy. We are moving in that direction.

tampering with evidence
obstruction of justice
illegal search and seizure / robbery
3rd degree assault, if they grabbed the guy in the process of grabbing his camera

that’s what comes to mind immediately
