If you’re using Firefox, install Adblock Plus. If you’re not, May I suggest doing so?

Several people have suggested Firefox, but I have no clue about the OS. I guess I need to download it and LEARN!

Thanks! You are awesome!

No pop up ads or hijacks with Firefox, go figure.

I hate spam in any form. But where do I go to get rid of it?

Is Firefox hard to learn? What will happen to my Favorites? Email? Etc?

Firefox will let you import your favorites from IE, and it is easy to learn. Email will be unchanged.

I do most of my email through Gmail or Yahoo. Both have excellent spam filters.

Firefox has a utility to transfer bookmarks over if I recall, been a long time. I find it easy to use and love the add ons like Adblock and Download helper.

I quit using downloaded email with Outlook Express and went to webmail years ago, so cannot help with that.

My wife keeps IE loaded along with Firefox as a few websites she likes do not work otherwise. I can't stand IE myself.

Thanks! I will try to download it this weekend. It seems like a good time!

Is there anything specific I need to know about it?

LOL. I have a beautiful Maine Coon cat that weighs a mere 23 pounds.

Get a script blocker. They'll never get a toe hold.

I strongly suggest installing Adblock Plus once you’ve installed Firefox. You can get it at http://adblockplus.org/en/firefox.

Mine is a cross between fur ball and lump. As usual, she’s laying across my hands as I’m trying to type.

Hmm, am watching the derby and the camera just zoomed in on two snipers on the roof.

My youngest takes my concentrating on the computer as a personal affront. She’s learned to get between me and the mouse.

All I know is my two cats are “American Shorthairs,” i.e. mutts. I did have a Burmese or half-Burmese, but she looked all Burmese to me. Also, Whitey, the cat I lost last year, she strongly resembled a Snowshoe although she was half or quarter Snowshoe but she looked like a purebred Snowshoe, her mother is grey and white and she had two grey and white brothers. She was part of a family of kittens I took in, along with the mother, back in 2001. All the kittens have passed away but we still have Mom, she is laying next to me as I type this. Genetics is funny in many ways.

When mine isn’t laying on my hands, not my arms but literally on my hands, she’s standing in front of the screen so I can’t see. Her latest trick is sitting off to the side and tapping on my shoulder. It’s hey!.... yo, hey you!... HEY, MOM!!! with her tapping getting more and more insistant until I scratch her or give her treats from the desk drawer. I don’t know why I put up with it.
