The Greeks, you will remember, thought up some pretty nifty fates for chaps in their dreary afterlife in the Underworld. There was poor old Sisyphus, condemned for all eternity to push a boulder up a steep hill, only for it to escape his grasp and tumble back down to the bottom, just as he was within sight of the top. Whereupon he would have to start all over again. Then there was Tantalus, chained to a pillar in a lake or river, the water rising to his chest. Tortured by thirst he would lower his head to drink, at which point the waters receded, over and over again for ever. Infernal fates.

Just the headline cracked me up.
I believe there is, and has been, enough religio-political intrigue, within the churches of America, that further readings of Dan Brown would become a bore.
What churches? All the churches that purportedly label themselves Christian, that have been nothing but parrots of good tidings for politicians, whether that politician has blessed their humble chapel with their physical presence or not.
