I recall a part of the novel, How Green Was My Valley, that they kept out of the movie.

A 10 year old girl was raped and murdered. The entire town lead by the reverend, searched every home and found the rapist and murdered.

The reverend asked the men assemble what to do with the beast.

He was handed over to the father and brothers of the girl murdered.

The reverends final words to them, was, "when you are through, do not pollute the ground with his body."

Just asking - is that really what God would say? Not agreeing or disagreeing - it makes me think: Who gave up on who first? That’s all.
