CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. - Bill Moser, who has been a scout leader in Clarksville for many years, has resigned his post Wednesday, May 8 after the Middle TN Boy Scout Council voted against allowing openly gay members.
The following is Moser’s letter of resignation, obtained by ClarksvilleNow:
"The Boy Scouts of America provides a program for young people that builds character, trains them in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and develops personal fitness. I have been actively involved with scouting for over 50 years, and my personal experience with Scouting has reinforced my belief that helping youth is a key to building a more conscientious, responsible, and productive society. Teaching or practicing intolerance IS NOT in the Scout Oath or Law. The Scouting trail begins in the 1st Grade with the Tiger Cub program and ends at age 18 for youth participation.
I personally do not believe a six year old boy has a clue about sexuality. I also believe the policy advocated by the Middle Tennessee Council which would require Scout’s who discover they are Gay to either resign or violate the 1st Scout Law (Trustworthy) is WRONG.
I therefore RESIGN my position as Chairman of the Cogioba District Camping Committee and its associated Committee position on the Middle Tennessee Council’s Camping Committee."
Moser said he will continue to serve as Troop 500's Charter Organization Representative at the discretion of the Church's Session

This is always the modus operandi....change the definition of words and load them with your postmodern feelings about your individual "truth".

As G.K. Chesterton stated many decades ago (and he was a man of the greatest Common Sense): Tolerance is only a “Virtue” to the man without Convictions.
As CS Lewis stated ( and all wise people since Socrates)-—those who elevate “ONE” Virtue above all others—is NOT virtuous. They are evil. (Marxists elevate Equality which can be a virtue—but when you remove Justice and other virtues—it becomes a Vice).
You can NEVER separate Virtues—ever. Promoting Vice (sodomy) and acting like it is genetic and Good-—is stating that all behaviors are “genetic” and therefore there is no such thing as “Good and Evil” (Sexual Morality) (Free Will and God’s Laws).
By elevating a dysfunctional, unnatural behavior to little children will severely warp their reality and the way they “see” human beings. It is a sick-—corrupted Afghani-type worldview.

If a boy has transient random feelings or thoughts but conscientiously controls those reactions and interacts normally with other boys, that's fine. It's a phase some boys go through, IMHO.
If the boy is agitated by desirous drives or has passionate crushes on other boys, he ought to be advised to leave the troop. If not, not.
"Gay" means "an open, public affirmer /advocate / promoter of homosexual behavior." And if that is the definition, all gay boys, adolescents, men --- members and leaders --- should be out, as in "gone". And their "straight" "allies", too.
Fifty years a scout leader and never understood the scout motto.
Amazing.
