Prosecutor will seek murder charges for terminated pregnancies in kidnap case

An Ohio prosecutor vowed Thursday to pursue murder charges against the Cleveland kidnapping suspect for terminating the pregnancies of the women he is accused of holding captive for a decade.

The prosecutor, Timothy McGinty of Cuyahoga County, also said that he would consider seeking the death penalty.

The suspect, Ariel Castro, is already charged with four counts of kidnapping — three for the women he is accused of abducting and one for a baby that one of the women bore in captivity.

McGinty said he would seek charges for each act of sexual violence, rape, kidnapping, assault and “each act of aggravated murder he committed by terminating pregnancies that the offender perpetuated against the hostages during this decade-long ordeal.”

One of the three women, Michelle Knight, has told investigators that Castro impregnated her at least five times, and that he starved her and punched her repeatedly in the stomach to force her to miscarry, according to a Cleveland police report.

McGinty specifically cited a provision of Ohio law that defines it as aggravated murder when someone causes, “with prior calculation and design,” the unlawful termination of another person’s pregnancy.

The way the perp did this was especially sadistic. I know the girls look good, but going through something like this repeatedly has to take a toll.

Look for at least a life sentence or many, many years in prison. He will not walk,

Good, and thanks to Ohio law that allows this, as well as the Prosecutor.

Hanging is too good for him.

Unfortunately he will not survive in prison. Just like Jeffrey Dahlmer he will end up killed by another prison inmate, which happened after the trial and sentencing.

No way.

They were just providing Reproductive Health Services!

Gosnell couldn’t get there in time.

I would actually prefer that he and his brothers get neither the death penalty nor solitary confinement. The hardened criminals will take care of these animals. There are several benefits to this:
1. They will die very painfully, perhaps after they’re used as toys for a little while.
2. Their deaths will not cost the taxpayers the expense of all of their appeals.
3. Their deaths will happen in a more timely fashion, also saving the taxpayers money.

Just put him in the public stocks and let the families and neighbors extract justice.

There’s a cemetery directly behind the houses across the street from the house. That would be the perfect place to get rid of the babies and any other victims and no one would be the wiser.

First Gosnell and then this Oh— it’s already off the front page of my West Coast newspaper, Gosnell was only a footnote barely mentioned out here.

Got most of my information from FReep, about the kidnapping case too.

What’s next? I pray for those poor girls and Thank God that they were able to escape. I’ve cried many tears over the babies in the Gosnell case, such a cheapening of life we’re seeing lately.

Ditto for the brave men who lost their lives in Benghazi - nothing to see here!! according to the administration.

I didn’t think the two I saw pictures of looked good. They are very short and tiny- I think their growth was stunted, I think he barely kept them alive. When they were examined at the hospital the doctors said they were all malnourished and dehydrated. I think the older one has medical issues with unhealed fractures and things of that type.

I heard he was living on disability income, so unless he had other income coming in, I don’t know how you could feed five people on that amount of money. I’m sure he was starving them. :(

Does this woman believe that her child - conceived through rape - should have been aborted?

Or does she love her child, no matter what?

She might understand the desire for a woman impregnated through rape to abort their child - does she now personally believe that abortion is the answer to healing what she went through?
