With the twists of a few final bolts, the steel spire atop One World Trade Center was installed Friday morning — raising the building’s height to a symbolic 1,776 feet.
A sea of construction workers stared into the blue spring sky with pride and delight after the finishing touches were applied about 8 a.m.

“It is also the day in the Hebrew calendar that the earth opened up and Korah and all those who rebelled against God’s lordship were brought into judgment,” Cahn noted.

I wanted to revive this thread because I just realized for the first time today that the Freedom Tower is one giant minaret. I apologize for being so daft on this. It’s absolutely revolting once you realize what has happened there for an end result. If I knew how to re-title this thread “Freedom Tower is a minaret” and post it new all over again I would.
