Hundreds of villagers have gathered in traditional Bavarian costume to celebrate one of the most important dates in the Catholic calendar.

Thank you for posting.
Bavaria is a beautiful place, I hope everyone gets a chance to visit someday.
Grussgott.
Egad, Bavaria how I miss you at times.
When my dad retired from the Army, he moved our family to Ubersee, near Chiemsee for 4 years. We went to German schools while learning to speak German. Quite an adventure.
I know Chiemsee and the Baroque islands. Spent time in Burghausen am Salzach and visited Salzburg on weekends to soak up Mozart and go dancing in Cafe Winkler on top of the mountain. That was way back in the 60’s.
Sheesh, don’t tell me that the muzzies have desecrated those places with their unholy and filthy presence, too.
WTF!
We were there from ‘60 to ‘64. Visited Salzburg and their salt mines a few times and went skiing in Berchtesgaden a lot. Went up to Hitler’s Eagles Nest. Good times.
Thought you might like a Catholic ping. A little different.
Thanks!
I’m from Munich!

I see. When I was stationed overseas, we had a visiting unit from the German Army. I went out to dinner with the commander and he would tell jokes about Bavarians, the way we tell jokes about “Polacks.” He, himself is Bavarian and he had a great sense of humor.
