Natalie MacMaster and her musical partner Donnell Leahy play several tunes from the Cape Breton tradition -- a sprightly, soulful style of folk fiddling. It's an inspired collaboration that will have you clapping (and maybe dancing) along.
.
But what about those few souls who aren't Scotsmen?;-)
Amazing what some can do w 4 strings and a bow...
Need to visit Cape Breton again
I’ve had the honor of seeing her three times. She is amazing in that she can dance while she fiddles. She was so good at Merlefest ‘04 I passed on Earl Scruggs and Vince Gill to see her at the dance tent.
Another stellar Cape Breton fiddler was Jerry Holland. Sadly, he died a couple years ago. He wrote a ton of music too. We miss him around here.
