It took awhile but they did it. The CGI is awesome and I do believe there is an English dub in the works.

A quote from filmmaker James Cameron promoting the film was included on the site's front page. Cameron's involvement in the international version is not confirmed.

The film will star actors Shun Oguri and Haruma Miura in the Japanese version, and will open in Japan on September 7.

Here’s hoping. Now if Cameron ever gets a budget for Battle Angel Alita and Speilberg gets Ghost in the Shell done right ...

Is this some kind of starwars knock-off? What is anime?

Looks better than what they just did to Gatchaman.

By the oddest of happenstance I just started re-watching Evangelion not ten minutes before this thread posted!

Do you have End of Evangellion to go with it?

I have the dvds but havent watched it for a couple years now. After another pass through Divergence Eve I’ll throw it in for another go. Can we ever get enough Shinji angst? ;)

End of Evangelion? No.

It’s been a couple years for me as well.

There is no such thing as too much Shinji angst.

You have to get End. It will put a whole new perspective on the mess that is the ending of the regular series.

But you will see more of Shinji angst than you can stomach in the opening scene...trust me ;)

Good to find more Anime fan Freepers. I have been a fan since the 80s with Robotech and replaced American TV/Movies with it for the most part. I don’t feel bad about supporting their entertainment industry in the least as long as it takes money from the propaganda machine we have here.

Check out Gasaraki for an awesome series as well.

I’m a big Ghost in the Shell fan. I’d like to see another feature-length. This ought to be a good thread to pick up some pointers on some other good anime to check out. Suggestons?

I could never get into Anime. The animation is sloppy, the colors are dull, the styles and characters all look alike, and many of them have creepy, neo-socialist storylines. Dragonball Z is the only watchable one out there.
