Chris Brown to critics of his art: 'Get a ... life!'

Singer Chris Brown has taken to Twitter to defend artwork outside his Hollywood Hills home that neighbors and the city of Los Angeles want him to take down.

Neighbors claim the monsters are scaring neighborhood kids and ruining the hillside aesthetic of the area below Lake Hollywood.

"There are lots of babies, lots of children, and they're literally frightened. It's like devils on the wall — big, scary eyes and big, scary teeth, and just the whole vibe is not what we're used to," said Patti Negri, president of the Hollywood Dell Civic Assn.

Responding to complaints about the art, L.A. city code officials cited Brown for unpermitted and excessive signage and ordered him to remove the art within 30 days. He also faces fines that start at $376 but could rise significantly if he fails to comply.

Brown on Saturday defended the artwork.

"There are scarier creatures on Harry Potter," he wrote via Twitter. "Get a ... life!"

Looks like stupid graffiti you’d see on train cars on a sideline.

And what kind of Hollywood neighborhood has lots of babies and children? They must be the servants’ children, and Brown’s stupid “art” is less frightening than everyday reality in Tijuana or Sinaloa.

I’m’ all for people doing what they like on their own property, but there is a good reason for placing limits on your neighbors stupidity.

If he wants to display his “art” go find someone willing to display it in an appropriate place.

Well, it doesn’t look any scarier than what I have seen in children’s cartoons. (dang...I hate agree with Brown.)

That being said, I’m sure glad he isn’t my neighbor. His “artwork” infinges on everyone around him.

If he likes graffiti, maybe some of the neighbors should go over there and paint over it. He should appreciate that.

I think I've seen "scarier" things on cereal boxes. Intentional box designs - not actual vermin crawling over them.

Not my cup of tea, but neighbors irritated by the clown kitschy "art" could perhaps display enlarged images of either his rap sheets, or cartoon-like caricatures somewhat resembling him beating up cartoon-like caricatures somewhat resembling that singer name Rihanna?

Okay, probably not the best technique to use when failing to agree to disagree with someone of the hip-hop artiste personality...

Finally a positive story on Homeowner’s Association. That is 100 percent reason to get behind Homeowner’s Associations. They certainly have their good points.

Looks like he’s impaled Twiki on top of that retaining wall. The whole thing is more childish than scary, including the paint job on his car. I wouldn’t want to look at that every day, but I really dislike HOA nazis. I’m torn.

I, unfortunately, live near the heart of Hollywood in Los Feliz. There are more caucasian babies here than we’ve seen in nearly forty years. It leads me to joke with my wife the line from Danny DeVito’s “The Ratings Game”: “I ain’t never seen so many white people in one place.”

Then maybe it’s possible the residents of “Hollywood Dell” have children, too.

We have quite a few aspiring rock musicians in my neighborhood - I hear them practicing when I’m out for exercise - but nothing to indicate the presence of Rappers.
