It works great on indeterminate tomatoes . I do it all the time and it helps me get a huge head start on getting them out early each year . I start a few of each type a couple of months early each year on the window sills and then take cuttings off of them about 10-15 days before it is time to put them out .

In my experience, not necessarily. If the fruit was not fully mature when the seed was harvested, the seed may still germinate, but probably at a lower success rate, and requiring a longer germination period.

I have never saved pepper seeds, as a majority of pepper plants I grow are hybrid, and even if you buy an open pollinated variety, most pepper plants are pollinated by insects, and not self-pollinated like tomato plants, so planting saved pepper seed is a crap-shoot.
