People spend their lives trying to get out of prison but for one cat it was the perfect place to hide her six newborn kittens.
The tiny felines were found in a truck at Parc Prison in Bridgend, along with their mother Agatha.
Once located, the kittens, who have also been named after famous fictional investigators, were taken into custody.
But the mother of Jessica, Sherlock, Christie, Marple, Kojak, and Morse proved to be a slippery customer, escaping the clutches of the guards.
The kittens were an easy catch, but mum was more elusive and, despite help from prison staff, she managed to get away, said deputy manager of Cats Protection in Bridgend, Kelly Matthews.
They were well behaved but very demanding as they needed bottle feeding every two hours through the day and night.
In the end the new mum was found and reunited with her litter the next day.
All the cats were healthy but the mystery of how they got into the prison has not yet been solved.
Those kittens are adorable. Thanks for sharing.
Bubbles snuck em in with his kitty Vince The Pince.
Adorable babies Kittehs.
Kitten stories and a cup of coffee are a good way to start the day
Good working hypothesis.
Don’t let Mr. Lahey know!
Mom carried them in in her tummy and gave birth in some out of the way corner. That’s easy. They are cute, and I’m sure they all have homes already.
LOL for the Sunnyval references. Hope they had a nice shed for mama and her kitties

There corrected it
Calico cats; I might’ve known it. Nothing but trouble and prison is a good place for them. I keep threatening to rename ours with a more factual moniker: Ms. Jiff.
TPB is hilarious....and I like that it dispels the myth that trailer parks only exist in the rural southern US...lol
They are also on Netflix. the show really grew on me. Can’t say I’ve ever known anyone like them though in real life. I think they have a new movie coming out soon. I hope so, I really do enjoy the humor and the kitties.
I’ve never seen “Eastbound and Dawn” I’m going to have a look for it. It’s raining here so thank you so much for the tip. Yay!
I wanna boop their pink noses.
I’m betting Morse is the tuxedoed cat ...
LOLOL! You got it with calicos! A lot of attitude there! That’s what my daughter’s vet said when she took her two calicos to the vet. LOL!
Darling! Thank you!
My vet said calico’s’ purrsonalities are ‘all woman’.
Do yours gallop around like horses and talk all the time? Ours sounds like she weighs 35 pounds and she talks all day long. The gray tabby is silent as a ghost and full of murder . . . he’s my favorite.
We’ve always had calicos, or tortoises, and only once had a yellow tabby. That tabby was the sweetest, most loving cat you’d ever want. So it is hard to compare calicos with other breeds, as we’ve not had them. A calico we have now drags shoelaces around the house, while howling her head off. It is like bringing booty home, I guess. Our Tortie calls the shots on when she will be petted. You never know when they will have a wrestling match, or growl at each other and end up washing each other! LOL!
