WOW. I would be peeing in my britches while doing that.
I have been in only one tornado, late night, and it did damage to my business, an injection molding plant, but It was a summer breeze compared to that midwest monster.

My farming family has lived in Southern CA since the 1870’s. No one has been hurt or has lost property from an earthquake.
Tornados look terrifying.
Choose your poison as they say.

Wow. You think you know, and then you actually see it. BTT.

Or minimize your poison. Over the last few years there have been minor earthquakes in my area, only damage is crack in the street down the block from from me. We have hurricanes, but by the time they are this far inland it is not much a problem if you are on high ground. Same thing when it comes to flooding. I intentionally chose my home to not be in a flood plain, even though the mighty Susquehanna River is four miles from my home. Then there are ice storms. We get those every few years, but not much damage. There are occasional tornados, but nothing like in tornado alley.
I figure a volcano will erupt in my backyard any day tho.

To see it in its terrifying awesomeness, and to know at the same time that people are dying in its path.

Agreed...bless them...also realize that from that distance, the "pieces of debris" are probably really large parts of roofs, chests of drawers, and maybe even a few automoblies.

I rode out Hurricane David in 1979 at sea off of Charleston, SC. I think I'd rather ride out another hurricane at sea than face a tornado.

Sadly - they are saying now that the school that did have a basement was where the kids drowned. F’n tornados - you can’t win Grrrr.
