Word For The Day, Thursday, May 23, 2013 muliebrity
dictionaries ad nauseam | 23 May 2013 | Thursday's sub

In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".

muliebrity \myoo-lee-EB-ruh-tee\ noun
femininity

Example sentences:
"She was one of those women who are wanting in—what is the word?—muliebrity."
— From H. G. Wells' 1911 novel New Machiavelli

"She is a motherly figure, but altogether unlike his mother, motherly in a way that allows too for muliebrity."
— From Michael Griffith's 2012 book Bibliophilia: A Novella and Stories

Etymology:
"Muliebrity" has been used in English to suggest the distinguishing character or qualities of a woman or of womankind since the 16th century. (Its masculine counterpart, "virility," entered the language at about the same time.) "Muliebrity" comes from Latin "mulier," meaning "woman," and probably is a cognate of Latin "mollis," meaning "soft." "Mollis" is also the source of the English verb "mollify"—a word that implies a "softening" of hurt feelings or anger.

The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-)

Though it would be laughably easy to tie the weak,
undocumented, unConstitutional, impostor, Islamic Tyrant to muliebrity,
it remains unfair to women, in its entirety.

Not only are all Leftist women ugly, but they are totally lacking in muliebrity...or maybe their lacking any semblance of muliebrity is what makes them ugly.

With pulchritude and muliebrity
The Kardashians have garnered celebrity
With no discernible skills
Booty sure pays the bills
Plus, they surpass Lois Lerner in integrity

Chewbacca would be insulted by the comparison.

Chewy could charm the crowd, press the flesh, and get their votes in contrast to our current FL.

“Mulebrity” was a quality that also came to mind re: Mooschelle.

Those fashion mavens who hold FLO-TUSh as a model of muliebrity have to be questioned on their sobriety...

To a woman I admire,
Who lights a certain fire,
Her muliebrity I praised,
Arms extended, hands upraised,
But all I did was spark her ire!

The woman without a thesaurus slapped me! ;-P

(Not a true story - Just trying to be funny)

She must be scared to death of judgement day. Rightly so, I bet. I loved Gowdy going after her yesterday and making the moron Cummings defend her. I was asking the spouse last night ‘How can someone so obviously stupid keep getting elected?’ And he said ‘I can answer that in 3 words - Sheila Jackson Lee.’ Too true.

I suppose I’m lacking in muliebrity, but that benefits me at work...

Obama’s world is so chaotic,
Things are not as they seem-
Inhabited by shape shifters
From some bong or a dream

Look at Michelle Antoinette-
Her muliebrity certainly shows
But that doesn’t keep her from
Blowing a fortune on ugly clothes

And just as Obama’s minions
Are vowing he’s like no other
He says something so Nixonian
Tricky Dick could be his brother...

A lot of people out here have mules and donkeys-mostly donkeys-for pets and self-propelled lawn ornaments. They are cute babies, but the grown ones are often ill tempered as a bad horse and downright dangerous.

A+ for you. Lots of people out here have the BLM burros on their land because they keep coyotes away. Muliebrity doesn’t necessarily mean froo-froo. I think you exhibit yours in taking care of others and being tender with them, whether it’s your child or your animals.

Thank you-for both compliments...

Keeping coyotes and packs of feral dogs away from chickens and other livestock are the reason people keep those ill tempered equines here, too. I’ve heard that even mountain lions hesitate to mess with them. We don’t have bears here, so I don’t know if the same is true for them.

Nice. I was watching some last week. Tobias gets these horrible hair plugs and pulls off his towel to reveal his bloody head. Everyone gasps. The maid starts muttering to herself about “Mr. Gay.”

I also think it is absolutely true that more people would enjoy going to hospitals if there was a bar.

I also like in the pilot when Michael is asking George Michael what he always says the most important thing is.

He answers “breakfast.”
