In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of Word for the Day.
Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.
The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-)
Practice makes perfect.....post on....
Review Thread One: Word For The Day, Thursday 11/14/02: Raffish (Be SURE to check out posts #92 and #111 on this thread!)

IRS employee, Lois Lerner, now gets to be faineant and get paid for it since she was placed on Administrative Leave.
Class is in session, despite my computer glitches. Homework do, don’t be the word for the day.
What a piece of work she is. Fox was just showing letters with Lois’ signature that show the persecution of conservatives.
Beat the ping by 7 minutes!
Homework is due ....can’t blame the computer for that one.
Funny, that word -
Feign - to fake it
Ant - associated with industriousness.
Watching that too. And to think! We pay her $177k annually for the privilege of having her persecute us.
Had to restart the computer, dang thing crashed on me.
It’s French, what can you expect from them? LOL A++
Which she now gets to sit at home.
I have to give up my life of faineance today and go into work to try to “fix” my email which hasn’t downloaded anything since May 14. My email provider is ATT which is a pain in the rear. The last time I had to work with their techs on a “fix”, I was on the phone with them about 16 hours. Finally some technician in the Philipines fixed it.
161020; < French, earlier fait-nient, literally, he does nothing, pseudo-etymological alteration of Old French faignant idler, noun use of present participle of se faindre to shirk. See feign, faint
Now Lois goes home, a shrew, faineant
“Unfair,” she shrieks, “I ain’t no miscreant!”
Where does this thing stop?
Methinks at the top
Obama or similar nauseant
My car’s steering was going bad. The mechanic said it was the Faineant arm...
oh, I am betting it goes all the way up to the POSPOTUS....all those meetings with the IRS and he wasn’t steering this? I don’t think so. I bet he met more with the IRS than his national security briefers.
Oh, my. Good luck with that. Then you get to sort through the emails? Yuck.
