Historian photographs UFO hovering over historic California barn that's better known for its ghosts

A metallic flying saucer appearing no different from any Sci-Fi movie was allegedly photographed hovering over a historic Southern California barn that’s already famously known for its spooks.

Santee Historical Society researcher Ellen Henry says she was outside taking pictures of the Edgemoor Barn near San Diego when she unknowingly caught the perfectly clear cigar-shaped object hovering in the sky.

'I was constantly looking up and around the area, including the sky's background, so I can get it just right, and not at any time did I see anything in the sky, or heard a sound of an aircraft,' she later wrote with her picture.

Is that also the farm that has pics of a Chupacabra milking the cows and caught Big Foot in a steel trap?

Assuming good faith on the part of those who see and photograph strange things in the sky I love their reasoning:

"I cannot identify what I see; therefore, what I see must be a space craft piloted by a person from another world!" Arghhh!

I finally got to see one this last February. For about a week my family and other people from the area saw them each evening. There are strange things in the skies but as to them being aliens that has yet to be proven. It is much more likely that they are some experimental military craft. Still if they are then it means we have technologies that the general public aren’t aware of yet and that is pretty exciting.

I saw a UFO and the pilot was a Chupicabra. The co-pilot was a Big Foot. Before going back into space, they stopped for some chocolate and I gave them five pounds of Ex-Lax. It probably kicked in after they passed the moon.

The lady said she saw nothing while taking the photograph, which leads me to suspect it is just a bug flying in front of the lens. I’ve seen similar photos of “UFOs” that turn out to have more mundane answers.

One poster there asked why these pics are always out of focus. One answer might be that their powerplants ionize the surrounding air - I have seen pics of an aerial device taken by a high-quality rocket tracking camera that was just as fuzzy. On the other hand, it just may the “UFO” was too close to the lens.

“They” may be here, but I doubt that this is one of ‘em.

Looks like a pretty fair pic of a Frisbee.

As I and my eyes age, things that are not so far away are all turning into flying saucers and aliens...on foggy nights there are a lot of bright-eyed monsters prowling the streets.

I would ask first what was her camera shutter speed.

A couple of things about this story.
1) Since the days of Bill Clinton (at least) the Brit press has had better reporting than ours.

2) In some circles that first sentence could be considered racist.

Good point. At what speed does the bug/UFO phenomena show up? And what speed does it not? (Question is from a "point-and-shoot" guy.)

I think that’s a good picture of an unknown object in the sky. Who knows what it is, but it sure isn’t any kind of aircraft we’re familiar with.

Looks vaguely like one of those prototype flying wing lighter than air craft, at a distance, rear three quarter view.

Can’t even tell if it’s an ‘aircraft’.

No, that’s down the block. This is the farm where the happy California Cows do their interviews.

I agree, especially after checking out a company called Skunkworks that a friend of mine told me about.
