That article is dead on-

I saw an ad for a customer service position at the biggest gym and fitness center in the next county-obviously a position for a 20 or 30 something-and it said in bold type “those who do not speak and write the English language properly need not apply”-I would like to know how many applicants ignored that directive...

I will bet dollars to donuts that my friend’s daughter, who will be graduating from Oxford in July, will end up working for Rice. Both girls worked for Rice several summers at the UN. The skids willbe greased now for them with Rice in the new job.

I traded the “White Rabbit” earworm-for a smoother one from the early 60’s-my mom said it was an old torch song, whatever that is/was, but we would hear it on the radio sometimes, and I’ve loved it ever since. I was watching a movie in the evening last weekend, and heard a few bars of it in one of the funnier scenes-

“You made me leave my happy home-
You took my love and now you’re gone-
Since I fell for you

Love brings such misery and pain
I guess I’ll never be the same
Since I fell for you”...
