re: ““... but that police believe they had the proper address.”

Well that makes it okay then. /s”

Yes, absolutely. I DO NOT understand how these “mistaken” addresses happen. Before you go busting down doors with guns drawn, wouldn’t you think the police would make absolutely sure they were at the right place???

Wouldn’t you think that they would recon the place, ask around undercover, something??

I have a personal story of a married couple from Alabama who moved to my neighborhood and bought a HUD repossessed home. It have been vacant for over two years. The previous owners were indeed bad news and I have no doubt that they were into dealing drugs - but, as I said, they had been gone for over two years.

The house was in terrible shape. It stayed that way until the HUD decided to sell the house. It had to be gutted (plants were growing from the carpet) of all flooring, the a/c, all the appliances, wall and ceiling repair. You name it, they had to replace it.

Finally, the nice couple bought it and continued remodeling it inside and out. They were in the house for about a year. So, remember now, the previous owners have now been gone for almost FOUR years.

Then, out of the blue, in the middle of the night - a SWAT team in full assault gear (the entire neighborhood was awakened to the noise) - broke down the doors, guns drawn, flashlights in the faces kind of thing, dragged this couple out of bed and shoved face down with rifle barrels at the backs of their heads - both being shouted at to not move or they would be fired upon.

After awhile, they FINALLY realized they had made a mistake and left. No apology, no nothing. The couple was too scared to pursue it.

How in the world did that happen? How could the cops NOT do at least a minimum of recon to find out who lived there? They were after the previous owners, who had been gone for almost 4 years?

It wasn’t a “mistake”.

A mistake is knocking over a water glass—unplanned, unintended.

Breaking into someone’s home in the dead of night is *planned* and *intended*.

It’s a disgrace. Tyrants wanting to play soldier like they’re in Fallujah. The police are giving people a reason to hate/fear them. I remember when it was “To protect and serve”. Now it’s more like,”To instill fear and generate revenue”.

“If I was a cop and saw a pitbull I’d shoot the damn thing too. In the long run they probably did him a favor. The breed should be exterminated.”

1. Thank god your not a cop.
2. You know nothing about Pitbulls.
3. Doing people a favor against their will is liberalism.

I don’t think they planned on breaking in and not finding the people they were after - it was just magnificent incompetence on parade. The problem is, when the cops screw up people often die, pets are murdered, and property destroyed - and for the most part, no repercussions.

1. Pitbulls should be exterminated from the face of the planet.

2. I don’t have labs. I have Great Pyrennes.

3. I won’t be giving the cops any reason to knock my door down and I live in a rural location where such a thing as this is extremely unlikely.

4. If I was a cop I would not have gotten the address wrong.

Here are relevant questions: did they know a veteran resided there? If so, was his military service the *reason* he was targeted? That is an interesting question.

It is amazing to see the hypocrisy that exists even at this site.....

If they read it, they didn't care.

I can see now why our freedoms are being taken away if all you got from this article is that you are glad the pitbull is dead.

I agree, momtothree.

So you think you’re safe because you live in a rural location and have a Great Pyrenees.

Nope, I think you’re safe because you parrot your master’s beliefs quite well. Bet you believe in gun control, size of soda drink control, Obamacare and abolishment of free speech, too.

Not to say your an idiot, but you sure do sound like one.

“I won’t be giving the cops any reason to knock my door down and I live in a rural location where such a thing as this is extremely unlikely.”

Mr. Arroyo didn’t give them a reason
either.

“I don’t have labs. I have Great Pyrennes.” So? You think the
fuzz wont shoot your puffy cotton-ball dog?

Proof positive that the 14th Amendment allows even the most mentally warped and morally feeble creatures equal protection under 1st Amendment.

You’re a moron to make such assumptions. Do you always act like a liberal when you disagree with someone’s OPINION?
