My 5 year old JRT, Hoot is blind from glaucoma and has had both of his eyes removed because of infection. I am amazed every day seeing how well he is doing without sight. He knows his way about the house and yard and even plays ball. Ball doesn’t have the same rules that it had when he could see but he still enjoys himself.

Agreed. We are picking up our golden retriever puppy in four weeks. His name will be Francis. We are beyond excited. After a nomadic lifestyle our children will finally get their puppy.

My long haired JRT, Hairy is a therapy dog and he and I visit a convalescent home with a fluffy Corgi. Maggie is adorable and so sweet.

I’m pretty sure dogs are activated by their sense of smell. Their ears aren’t too bad, either. Eyes? Not so much.

I must say I considered putting him down. He had reoccurring eye infections that were so painful that he spent all of his time curled up in his bed. Finally the vet found an antibiotic that cleared the infection up enough so the eyes could be removed and since then he has been just fine.

You say he is a therapy dog. I am so grateful for threapy dogs.,when i was on dialysis I had a friend come by with her therapy dog, a Pomeranian, and he stayed with me during that time. I wasn’t afraid.
