Merely tweeting about guns these days can prove to be volatile, especially for those in Hollywood.

Case in point is actress Katee Sackhoff, best known for her TV roles as agent Dana Walsh on 24″ and pilot Kara Starbuck Thrace on Battlestar Galactica.
After having seen a news report about a four-year-old boy who accidentally shot and killed his father with a loaded gun that was left unattended at a friends house in Prescott Valley, Ariz., the action star tweeted Monday: Please practice gun safety. This is horrible!

She concluded the discussion by noting: On a lighter note since Ive lost half my followers due to talking about gun safety the sun is shining and Happy Monday. Love your neighbor today.
I think that is a good response and we should support her.
Her follower count is up to 130k. It was down to 101k the day this story broke just days ago.
Think I’ll follow her on Twitter.
That is, half of the fake followers that populate the typical account.
She’s right. Gun safety is important. She at least isn’t a left wing, fly off the handle loon that would just tweet “ban guns now” or something stupid.
She's the reason I watch it.
Where does she live? I’ll follow her! 8^)
do I give a d^&%$ what any celebrity thinks about anything other than the product of their work?
No.
But, the opposite, the mass build up, mass popular buildup for ANYTHING celebrity connected IS, to me, a cultural disease.
The whole thing of “tweeting” with celebrities is, to me, popular insanity for which some “benign benevolent dictator” ought to say “GET A F&^*^%$NG LIFE!!!!!!”
Right behind ya
This is the fifth or sixth bogus story about this in the past few days. She didn’t lose half her followers.
I followed her.
geez, dude... chill
I am happy when anyone sees the light and this will help our cause in a small way
Frenetic ranting over a tweet war, on the other hand... not so much
Thanks, but I never said she did. I said, "Her follower count is up to 130k. It was down to 101k the day this story broke just days ago." and I know that to be true because I checked both then and now.
Not disagreeing with you at all. I would have been rather surprised if her followership didn’t go up. It was never much over 100K, and she later said she was “kidding.”
She exaggerated a bit (I’ve done it a million times!) and didn’t expect someone to make a federal case out of it.
Oh it’s gone up alright. 30k (30%) in just two days. This whole story might have been a way of increasing her numbers. If so it was a success.
I really don’t think it was on purpose to get numbers. She was probably surprised it was a story in the first place. There really are people in the business who don’t believe the world revolves around them, and are surprised when someone acts like it does.
That will teach her. No common sense allowed in Obammy’s radical homo global village. Her tweet was too American. She was supposed to say “ban guns!”
At least she did not bite her pastry into the shape of a gun. The SS would have had to pay her a visit. If I were her, I post such a picture for the wacko birds to digest. : )
She should just post some more boobie pictures and her follower count will be better than ever.
