Education Secretary Arne Duncan said Wednesday that “cultural hesitation” makes it more difficult for some Hispanic parents to want to enroll their children in public pre-school programs because of their preference for family and friends.

Duncan’s remarks came when asked about pre-school and the Hispanic community at an event to mark the anniversary of Educare of Washington, D.C., a preschool for children from six weeks to five years old. …

I guess the only question for me is, are those other kids really kids i’d WANT my kids to be around?

Do they know ‘more’ things at 4 or 5 than I WANT my kid to know?

Is my kid better off with all that ‘stuff’, if the other kids are all Honey Boo Boo?

That’s who’s socializing your kid in public schools. Honey Boo Boo.

We’ll pass.

They’d be vast pools of knowledge. Birth Control, legal issues with parenting etc. They’d know enough to call 911 because your kid had a toy gun.

This is ALL about indoctination into the Communist mindset.
Get em as young as you can.

The lastest- Toy Gun Buy back that was in the news the last couple of days proves that. As Holder said, ‘we need to change the whole mindset on guns in America.’ Get to them at that age and it will only take one generation and it will be complete confiscation with that generation being the eyes and ears of the Government.

Even on the school bus. There’d be 15 or 16yr olds discussing their ‘techniques’, b/c issues, baby daddies and the latest Kartrashian sex videos. Along with drugs and other stuff I’d just rather my FIVE year old (or SIX year old or SEVEN year old or TEN year old) NOT be aware of just yet.

When we were kids it was just the other kids knowing ‘bad words’. Now the six year olds are likely to know as much about human reproduction as their 21yr old mothers.

Public schools. Your six year old socializing with low class trashy people. 10 hrs a day. Versus how many hours a day they’re with you? Hmmm, which set of values do you think they’ll pick up? Hmmm, let me think about that...

I’m not sure any ‘resources’, reading materials and playground equipment will ameliorate that other stuff. Pretty sure, in fact, that it won’t.

Bttt!!!!
Additional advice to those with kids, read some of John Taylor Gatto’s books and watch the video “Agenda : Grinding America Down “.
Your eyes will be opened.

Is my kid better off with all that "stuff" if the other kids are all Honey Boo Boo?

In the environment I'm in, it's not "honey boo boo" that's a problem; it's that kid who has already learned to fight, push, and scream when things don't go their way.

One of the cases that really touched my heart a few years ago was a pre-school class where a wonderful little four year old girl, neatly dressed, well groomed, polite, soft spoken, knew her numbers and letters at age 4 was forced to "learn" with an imtimidating thug-in-training. It was obvious that girl was so much better off with that 17(!) year old mom who dropped out of school to raise her than to put up with what her mom had to put up with while just trying to do the right thing when she was in school.

FWIW, I've come to think that all of the "stuff" is too much; it's over-stimulating. And in the long run, giving parents who might want to be responsible time off for someone to raise their kids while they take off sends the wrong message. JMHO

Being away from the 17yr old mom might be a good thing for that particular child.

Being around that particular child is NOT a good thing for MY child.

And the antibullying agenda had nothing to do with stopping the thugs. It had everything to do with grooming 5yr olds awareness of adult sexual behaviors.

It’s the baby mama babies and thugs that control the local school system. I don’t think sacrificing MY kids well being for the sake of some do-gooders conscience is a great idea!

Years ago, the US Army tried to save a lot of money, by instead of buying German Shepard puppies that had been weaned by their mother and trained by professionals, to take newly born puppies and have them raised by MPs.

Of the 60 or so dogs, all were non-functional and put down, because the Army did not know that affectionate, physical stimulation is essential to neurological development in mammals.

The same applies to humans, but far more so, as humans develop much slower, *and* it is essential that they bond with both their mother and father. For only then do children develop on a “success” track of life. Children raised by a single parent are much more likely to be in a “survival” track, and thus have 60% greater odds of becoming criminal offenders.

This calls into question the very concept of regular pre-school, as opposed to intermittent baby sitting. By the age of four, children need to experience a little, intermittent separation from their parents and other family; but even by age five, when most enter kindergarten, many are still unready for such a broad change as being separated on a daily basis for several hours.

Do they experience negative psychological problems because of this? Unknown.

However, anecdotal experience indicates that children given nurturing from their parents and family longer before independence, are more likely to provide this same benefit to their family and offspring.

Furthermore, such families tend to cross-gender socialize their children more, so that boys and girls relate better to each other’s wants and needs. This is a big help to having stable families when they eventually establish relationships and have children.

Something that non-Hispanic white people are missing out on, resulting in children far less capable of having healthy marital relations.

My wife and I starting teaching our children at birth - reading to them, playing with them, talking to them, showing them bright colored objects, etc. When they started moving around the house, we allowed them to explore, with supervision. When they were able to grasp a writing implement, we helped them to draw, color, etc. We taught them about shapes, colors, letters, numbers long before they were of kindergarten age. All four of our children graduated from high school. Two have attended college. One entered the Army straight out of high school. The fourth is a stay-at-home mom to her two daughters. None of them are living off the teat of the taxpayer.

Pre-school, if done correctly, is not a bad thing. However, Arne Duncan isn't caring about preparing young children for formal education. His interest in solely on indoctrination.
