On it’s own, GF III is not a bad movie at all...it just doesn’t measure up to the first two....but then again, few movies do.

Main reasons:
Items #1 and #2 bother me the most. Judge Parker ran a strict but fair hanging enterprise, as did the judge before him. It is what turned Ft. Smith from being an frontier town haven for outlaws into a pleasant little town of church goers in a mere 15 years or so.
The dialogue wasn’t the greatest, but the story was pretty good.

We have this movie on tape. All 3 of my kids saw it a couple of times. Thorpe was the greatest natural athlete ever. With today’s training techniques he would likely hold several world records.
I have the entire set with Don Knotts. Raised 3 kids on it. Best writers conveyed the best messages.
Bar none, the Agony and The Ecstasy, with Charleton Heston as Michaeangelo, is one of the most inspiring movies ever, a 1965 production, and none of the filth and perversion marketed by today’s homowood.
