It started as a joke between friends, but Morris the cat's bid to become mayor of the Mexican city of Xalapa, the capital of the state of Veracruz, has now turned into a social media phenomenon with a serious message about political disenchantment.

He’s the spitting image of a cat we used to have who liked
to hop up on the toilet tank and repeatedly push the handle to amuse himself. We named him Flush.

In 2005, my alma mater, NC State Univ., elected The Pirate Captain as president of the student body. It really irked the political jackasses who thought it was some kind of stepping stone.

Election? I thought this was another Calvinism vs Arminianism thread. I have always thought that cats were Calvinist and dogs were more Arminialist but this is in Mexico.
