Celebrity chef Paula Deen admitted in a recorded deposition to telling racist jokes, using the N-word, and planning a slavery-themed wedding, according to multiple reports.
The May 17 deposition where she made the alleged admissions is part of a $1.2 million lawsuit brought by Lisa Jackson, the former manager of a Savannah, Georgia, restaurant run by Deen and her brother Bubba Hiers.
Jackson alleges in the suit that Deen used the N-word at the restaurant and that Hiers sexually harassed her.
According to the reports, in the deposition, Deen replied Yes, of course, when asked if she used the N-word.
Deen also reportedly admitted telling racist jokes, explaining: Its just what they are theyre jokes most jokes are about Jewish people, rednecks, black folks I cant determine what offends another person.
Jackson said also Deen wanted African-American employees to act like slaves for a big wedding she was planning. Deen explained she got the idea from a restaurant where "the whole entire waiter staff was middle-aged black men, and they had on beautiful white jackets with a black bow tie," the National Enquirer reports. The magazine also quoted Deen as saying: I mean, it was really impressive. That restaurant represented a certain era in America after the Civil War, during the Civil War, before the Civil War It was not only black men, it was black women I would say they were slaves.
Her brother Bubba also admitted to referring to President Obama with the N-word, the report claims.

Yuck. I’ll bet she claims to be a Christian, too.
She sounds more like trailer park trash than a gracious Southern lady here.
Who cares but the easily offended.
I have never seen slavery themed weddings but I have seen slavery themed bridal showers and bachelor parties.
The only time I have ever thought about the “N” word in relation to a person was with Barack Obama and yes it was deserved.
a few jokes doesn’t really bother me that much, but that plantation wedding is insane. Who would want to be involved in something that perverted?
Good grief yawll.
Even if all she has is self-interest, she had ought to know better than to needlessly offend people. I don’t personally find her food choices all that appealing but she certainly has a good product to sell and that has been greatly diminished by this needlessly rude behavior.
Please tell me this is sarcasm. No one can be that stupid can they?
Especially a business owner with black employees.
So, what restaurant are they talking about?
Was it Uncle Bubba’s Oyster House?
I only ask because I’ve been there.
It was really good.
We didn’t even know Paula Deen was his sister until we went there.
I would say it’s apropos when describing individuals like Jesse Jackson, Ted Kennedy, Al Sharpton, Sheets Byrd and that ilk.
Deen has always had a filthy mouth. This should not surprise anyone.
Never liked her, always thought she laid on the “y’all” way too thick, heard her restaurant was a rip-off and she had Mooch and Jimmah on with glee...
I don’t know anything about this person and I don’t think I will invest even 5 seconds of my life to find out.
Its OK for Jackson to call us racial slurs (which I am sure she has), but not for Paula???
You should hear what I say about Norwegians.
