This is a little dated but I found it very interesting. I've been increasingly fascinated by microchimerism. I wouldn't be surprised to find out that this is a contributing factor to autoimmune diseases and cancer though fetal stem cells could potentially extend the life of their mothers in some cases.

Seminal fluid is a natural immune suppressant so I suppose it would be possible for cells to survive in a woman's body in rare cases from sexual intercourse. I doubt the reverse is likely at least with heterosexual men.

If this is true I wouldn't be surprised to find that women who are more promiscuous are more likely to have autoimmune issues and non HPV related cancer.

Wouldn't that be special though? That maybe religious thou shalt nots weren't all fuddy duddy in the sky stuff.

Pregnancy in and of itself requires an autoimmune suppression so that her body won’t reject the embryo. It would make sense if a few rogue sperm or tissue cells made it through, too, via the entry way conception creates.

Pregnancy in and of itself requires an autoimmune suppression so that her body won’t reject the embryo.

But is that suppression the result of pregnancy, or the result of the presence of semen/sperm?

I wonder...

Maybe the never-pregnant women were using BC pills, which prevent pregnancy but not the immuno-suppressive action of the semen?

You'd have to test a virgin group to find that out.

Folklore has it that while glad-handing a crowd, Teddy Kennedy would say to a pretty young girl, “Saaaay... you look familiar! Do you have a little Kennedy in you?”

When the surprised woman would stammer “why, no...” Teddy would grin, lean over and whisper in her ear: “Would you like some?”

I think the most likely reason women in the fourth group would have male cells would be through miscarriages. Most zygotes do not implant. Of those that do, about 30% miscarry before the woman even knows she is pregnant.

It is interesting that 80% of the women who had abortions had male cells in their bodies. Since only 50% of pregnancies are of males, that suggests they had more than one abortion. I wonder how many women would keep using abortion for birth control if they knew that their victims leave behind permanent evidence of their existence.

Problem with this ‘theory’ is that very few human cells have a long life outside an organized structure like the brain or the kidney.

free floating cells, perhaps ‘stem’ cells from the placenta (?) might make it across the barrier and into the mom, but, how they would persist is hard to explain.

It has been known for decades now that HIV can be passed from a female to a male via the pubic hair follicles. It is one of those facts that is so scary that the CDC won’t tell you. American service men in Germany got HIV from one or more female prostitutes infected with the virus, and those guys used condoms and did not perform oral sex.

Decades after birthing a child, the mother can still have cells from that baby residing in her uterine tissues. There may be stem cells in seminal fluid. There are certainly stem cells in the uterus.

Male cells can be found during autopsy in the brains of women who are 60, 70, or older.

The cells have everything they need to survive in the mother’s body. I think that the cells that cross the placenta are not programmed to develop further, but simply to integrate themselves into the host (mother) and survive.

I hypothesize that this may be one reason the immune system does not recognize the baby as a foreign invader and kill it—because the baby’s cells become part of the mother’s body, therefore causing them to be recognized as “self” by the immune system. A related function may be that the presence of the children’s cells strengthens the maternal instinct.

I can tell my sons that they will always be a part of me...

On my profile page is a link to my blogpage. The second essay on that page is actually an almost 100 page booklet I wrote on stem cells, cloning, abortion, and the vagaries of stem cell harvesting. In that document you will find plenty of references which you may follow for more data. But the bottom line is that every pregnancy a woman has leaves living cells from the child in her uterus, cells which will remain alive in many cases as long as she remains alive or her uterus is removed.

Recently, Kim Kardashian made noise about 'eating her placenta'. I seriously doubt that her mother preserved it for her all these years. She is ignorant of the fact that it is the gestating child that makes the palcenta, not the mother. But what do we expect from vacuous brained media personae?

It just seems that if pubic hair follicle transmission of HIV were possible, there would many more female-male cases, many more cases of heterosexual transmission, and even casual transmission during sports, hair cutting - after all if pubic follicles transmit the virus, why not body hair or head hair follicles? Why not more inexplicable infections?

I tried my own search before I asked - couldn’t find anything. Even tried PubMed. Why would the CDC keep it quiet?

No, I am specifically saying HIV. A doctor with whom I played golf and called on professionally, and whom I believe without question told me of papers which were sent to him as a member of the CDC, detailing the story of the HIV passed to male soldiers by German prostitutes. In that same paper the mosquito vector was included as something the CDC needed to alert their field investigators to in South Florida. I’m 68, nearly. But I have a very good memory for details which were connected to my profession.

That maybe religious thou shalt nots weren't all fuddy duddy in the sky stuff.

I have been thinking about this very thing from a more religious aspect- I didn't have the terminology (microchimerism), but the thought is truly thought provoking, culminating perhaps in DNA (what a marvel) not being a static record or blueprint, but rather a dynamic record of YOU, residing in every cell...

Genesis 6 is what has been driving me lately - The 'Sons of God' lying with the daughters of men... Noah being chosen because he was perfect in his generations... Pre-flood corruption of everything that drew breath (not just humans)... It is a VERY interesting passage if one can step outside of religious teaching and look at what it says.

And it is not all past... Homosexuals receive the reward for their iniquity in their bodies (are adulterers any different?). That is a real-time promise.

And future: Daniels statue speaks of a time (during the reign of the 10 toes) where 'they' will attempt to mingle their seed with the seed of men.... Who exactly is that 'they'?

I think that we are opening the lid to Pandora's box with all the chimerism we are doing now - And the Bible says it has happened before.

And I think we have no idea how serious God's commandments are - why they are - Is there a reason why we are not to eat pork? Can it have anything to do with how close the pig is to what a human is? Why the exclusion of meat from predators? Shellfish?

Maybe the answers are very close to what you offer here... Something far more visceral than any religion has understood... I dunno. Just sayin'.

Thanks for the post. very cool.

The remaining fetal cells are not restricted to the uterus. They enter her blood, and are distributed throughout her body. Male cells have been recovered from old women's brains at autopsy, fifty years or longer after they had children.

No, in fact, there isn't. Peter's dream is interpreted by Peter himself, just a few passages down. The dream is about accepting the gentiles into the church. The spin you have absorbed is the doctrine of a church, not the Word... To believe it is to believe that God changed what is declared to be unchangeable in the OT, and denies the direct, explicit commandment of Jesus Christ to keep and do the Torah, and denies the prophets who have predicted that the whole world will follow the law of God by the end.

But that is not the point here... I was just expanding upon the idea that Maelstorm introduced. Food laws are just one aspect. There are many things in the Bible having to do with DNA and seed that might be taken as physical that many have taken as spiritual... IF physical, the ramifications are daunting.

I’ve had thoughts along the same lines. I truly suspect that there is a lot more in those passages of Genesis and many ancient texts & legends than has typically been credited. There is some really interesting research involving epigenetics which suggests that indeed a person not only accumulates epigenetic changes but also passes them on based on environmental stimuli, etc.

Biological memories of past environments Epigenetic pathways to health disparities
http://www.academia.edu/630370/Biological_memories_of_past_environments_Epigenetic_pathways_to_health_disparities

THE EPIGENOME LEARNS FROM ITS EXPERIENCES
http://learn.genetics.utah.edu/content/epigenetics/epi_learns/

I think that there may have been in the past more advanced biotech rivaling even what we have today. The problem is such technology being so fragile by nature would almost certainly be unrecognizable. History is filled with depictions of chimera creatures and the technology to create them isn’t even extremely complicated as would be expected.

If what you are suggesting is even partially correct then the prospect of eating raw meat could have unforeseen results and the whole idea of absorbing the strength and qualities of your kill takes on a whole new meaning though I expect the immune system and digestive system would take care of most of that though.

It just goes to show how truly limited our understanding of the complexities of the biological world is. The one thing that is increasingly clear though is that our activities and choices not only effect our immediate lives but also the gene expression of our offspring. Many seem to be in denial of this or at least what it means in real terms however we see the same thing with psychology and the study of the brain which also dynamically changes not just to store memories but based on our common repeated behaviors and stimuli.

Was Peter lied to in a dream? I ask because Peter believed God sent the dream in order to instruct Peter regarding the Gentiles. If the dream was not sent by God, then the New Testament is merely good advice with no power to transform the mind of man. If the dream was sent from God, then it will not have any aspects which are deception or false.

There are passages in the Bible (OT and NT) where instruction is given for specific persons or groups without being given for all of humankind. There are several scenes in the Bible which can only be understood to the greater depth with an understanding of modern Physics/Science, but the passages ring true from that time to ours because God is not a liar therefore He will not lie.

Peter's dream was, well, instructional, and for Gentiles a revelation on Salvation as well as instructional on foods. That dream did not remove the food restrictions on Jews, but it did reveal more than just the food regs donchaknow.

Thank you for the links... They will take some digestion before I comment, but, this is right along the lines of what I am speaking of. I had no idea that science had gone here at all. My, what an interesting study!

I think that there may have been in the past more advanced biotech rivaling even what we have today. The problem is such technology being so fragile by nature would almost certainly be unrecognizable. History is filled with depictions of chimera creatures and the technology to create them isn’t even extremely complicated as would be expected.

I would agree wholeheartedly. It is these incursions, where chimerism, transgenderism, androgyny, and other indicators occur that have my interest. My current work has unearthed an amazing correlation between these (as symptoms) and giant leaps in knowledge, followed by eventual destruction on an epic scale... I think it has happened more than once. But, you will have to wait for the book before I can discuss it with precision :P ... Leave it at the idea that when Man reaches too far, and messes with the natural order of things, invariably and predictably, wickedness appears in ways that confound the natural method of transmission of his seed - Culminating in a trespass not only of himself but of the order of kind (genre) generally. Destruction inevitably follows shortly.

If what you are suggesting is even partially correct then the prospect of eating raw meat could have unforeseen results and the whole idea of absorbing the strength and qualities of your kill takes on a whole new meaning though I expect the immune system and digestive system would take care of most of that though.

Actually, the instruction to heal with anointing with oils is patterned in 'essential oils' today. These highly concentrated plant oils absorb through the skin and are distributed by the lymphatic system primarily... bypassing both digestion and immune systems. It seems we are more porous than is generally assumed... Those same oils, in an edible grade, can sometimes have great (and different) effect by way of rubbing on the gums, for a direct entry into the blood (immunity is suppressed in the mouth). One might assume that if plants can be ingested in such a way, animal may well be able to follow likewise... Of course this is but a speculation on my part - Your observations remain true. But it is a caution...

It is extraordinary, isn't it? 'The sins of the fathers' are passed down for generations, eh?

Was Peter lied to in a dream? I ask because Peter believed God sent the dream in order to instruct Peter regarding the Gentiles. If the dream was not sent by God, then the New Testament is merely good advice with no power to transform the mind of man. If the dream was sent from God, then it will not have any aspects which are deception or false.

I don't think Peter was lied to - But Peter didn't understand... So he obviously took it to mean something other than it meant on it's face (because it couldn't mean what it seemed to mean, as God explicitly declared the Torah to be immutable... forever). That lack of understanding was washed away by an epiphany wrt the House of Cornelius, wherein Peter himself declares the meaning of the dream... And there is not one whiff of proof that Peter ran off to find a bacon-cheeseburger after the vision... He seems to have remained Torah observant, as did the other disciples.

And I flatly deny the idea that the object(s) used in the dream must be a true aspect - there are tons of examples of dreams in the Bible that had to be interpreted because the objects of the dream could not be understood. What is paramount in the dream is that YHWH never called the gentiles themselves unclean... Jewish Tradition did that... All the things in the dream were definitely defined as unclean. The meaning is not that 'these things are now clean (they cannot be made clean without breaking the Torah, which YHWH is declarative that he would not do)', but rather 'don't call unclean what YHWH has made clean'. The Gentiles are made clean by their desire to be clean just like any Jew.

Riight.... What stands in the way of that is the Prophets, who speak of a day when the Torah will go out from Jerusalem, and the whole world will keep it, to include specifically, the Sabbaths (the Sabbath and Holy Days). God will not be made a liar... You are right in that... and his prophets are his qualified agents - If they are lying, God is lying. So I will take the Torah and the Prophets over the traditions that teach counter to what they say.

Peter's dream was, well, instructional, and for Gentiles a revelation on Salvation as well as instructional on foods. That dream did not remove the food restrictions on Jews, but it did reveal more than just the food regs donchaknow.

I disagree profoundly that the food restrictions are 'for the Jews'. Yeshua gave an explicit command to do and to teach the Torah. That means every Christian, as there is no more 'Jew and Gentile'.
