Suspected Scrapper Dies From Electrocution
KAAL ^

Posted on 06/21/2013 11:17:47 PM PDT by nickcarraway

The Olmsted County Sheriff’s department is investigating after deputies found a man dead near an abandoned farm.

Deputies were called just after 8 o’clock Tuesday night to an abandoned residence off of 40th Ave. and Viola Road NE.

Upon arrival they located the body of an adult male near a power pole. The sheriff’s department says after early investigations they believe the male was cutting and scrapping wire from the farm and that he cut into a live electrical wire.

Although the exact cause of death is under investigation they it’s suspected that the male suffered an electrocution.

A vehicle and other items were found at the scene. Investigators are working to identify the male as well as any others that may have been with him at the time.

The sheriff’s department is hoping the anonymous 9-1-1 caller will come forward to help them with the investigation.

An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday.

Darwin.

They will do tens of thousands of dollars to irrigation systems on a farm for a couple of hundred dollars in scrap. Many of the scrapyards that buy this stuff are incredibly shady.

A mid-sized city recently had power knocked out to thousands (including businesses) from one of these meth maggots.

While it is neither right or charitable to take pleasure in someone’s misfortune nor to speak ill of the dead; there’s just such a satisfying feeling of justice, instantly and permanently rendered, when we read these stories.

"...abandoned farm..."

Abandoned farm? Interesting concept. So no one, not even the town or the county owned it anymore? It was just free for the picking, so to speak. Journalists!

This is the Rochester, Minnesota area. Not exactly a down and out area. If the farm was abandoned at all, it was probably just the out buildings. This is the corn belt and (like everywhere else) farms are getting bigger.

Yeah, someone owned the farm. I could bet you money on it. If the outbuildings are run-down when someone acquires the farm, the general protocol is to bulldoze them down so as to create additional land to grow grain.

Otherwise, they can be converted into a number of on-farm uses from grain storage to seasonal rentals. We had a family reunion in one of these corn belt "abandoned farms" one year. Nice house and plenty of rooms for the extended family for about $100 per day. Not a bad deal for us (compare to the price of 8 or so standard hotel rooms for the comparable sleeping space PLUS we got a full kitchen, dining room, living room, etc.) or for the farm owner.

Their peak season is deer season when the deer come out of the woods to feed on what is left of the cornfields. You have to reserve far in advance.

Long story short is that the odds are fairly good this was an income producing property which was trashed so some thief could pick up a little pocket change for his next hit.

Couple years ago had crack heads unbolting and dragging
sections of guard rail from I 80 to junk yards to sell for
drug money.

Cops caught one of them dragging a piece of guard rail down
the shoulder

Started arresting the junk yard owners for possession of stolen property

Put end to that.......

My town has a junkyard. For awhile it got so bad with these "unauthorized scrappers" that the police dept put a cop on-site at the yard during business hours to see who was bringing in stuff like guardrails. As far as I know, they still do.

There was a story out of Detroit two summers ago where punks stole three foot of copper tube from the A/C unit at a retirement home. Put dozens of elderly folks in misery for what...maybe one dollar? Lethal injection would be perfect for these maggots.

I have said that often. A few years ago Omaha was having problems with man hole covers being stolen for “salvage”. Any one that wants to know, does know man hole covers are not legitimate salvage.

You know what is wrong with things like this? A person can't stand this idiot up and tell him just how wrong he was and that he got what he deserved.

Although the exact cause of death is under investigation they it’s suspected that the male suffered an electrocution.

But they have to be positive.
