;

In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".

panegyric; noun

1. a lofty oration or writing in praise of a person or thing; eulogy. 2. formal or elaborate praise

Etymology: 1603, "eulogy, laudation," from Fr. panégyrique (1512), from L. panegyricus "public eulogy," originally an adj., from Gk. panegyrikos (logos) "(a speech) given in a public assembly," from panegyris "public assembly in honor of a god," from pan- "all" (q.v.) + agyris

Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.

The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-)

Maybe my take on the Zimmerman/Martin thing may not be all that sympathetic, but I see it as two guys in the wrong place and the wrong time, letting ego and testosterone take control, and one ended up dead-and that really is terrible.

But it gave the supposedly grieving mother a boon market in mementos of her son, like those icons and candles for gangster saints sold in Mexico-and her attorney a chance to be the biggest race-baiter since Jesse Jackson-I think it is a fiasco and an excuse for violence...

Well, that works-just add it to the price of the car. I sold the hotrod El Camino, by the way-the son of my contractor compadre bought it-he’s going to put it on the strip, where it will be happy again....

Good morning. Had my comeuppance at the doctor’s this morning. I have new blood pressure meds yet again. I haven’t been happy with the plan and results, but had to give it a month longer. RME Perhaps, this plan will do the trick.

I have little interest in this trial, but I will say...Zimmerman did not commit murder. It appears to be more like self-defense. Two losers collided, one walked away, the other died. It was inevitable.

Theres an article from a local paper, with the layout of the property, and the timeline.

Its very damning to the prosecutions case.

If I can dig it up, Ill post the link.

That is similar to my take-if the race baiters hadn’t turned it into a “cause” of sorts, it would have gone down with a fine, a suit, some lesser charge and been a harsh lesson about walking with one’s head in a very dark place. Instead, some media whores got ahold of it and we have this mess that is going to cost Florida’s taxpayers a bunch of money...

Camt find the map, here is the police reort.

http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2012/images/05/17/zimmerman.police.reports.pdf

Bottom line on the map is there is a horizontal street. That reaces a t intersection at a verticaal street.

Between the place where Zimmerman parked was a standard concrete walk, as is common in apt. Complexex(usually has the mailboxes for two sides of the courtyard.

Martin goes down the concrete path, Zimmerman makes it out to the courtyard, and essentially was on a clear path to his home.

Until he doubled back to befin the incident.

I know it sounds like a joke, but it is true-the AC contractor who works with us brought pics he took on vacation a year or so ago in Mexico City of that stuff for sale right beside the candles and prayer cards for St. Jude, Our Lady of Guadalupe, etc in market stalls.

One icon is like the grim reaper, but it has some dead drug lord’s name instead, and there are other ones with other drug lord’s names and likenesses-all killed, but apparently not forgotten-it is a cult, he said and the priests speak out against it at Mass, because it is evil.

He also made that his last trip to Mexico, even though he has friends who moved there to work and live cheap-he said it is dangerous for any American, of any ethnicity ...

I don’t think so-it already has a very nice spray-in bed liner...
