Wow how odd, I react the same way in front of dandelions.

Keeshond is the only breed of dog I’ve ever wanted. Didn’t get one, but I think they are the prettiest of all the dogs.

Might as well just get a Belgian Tervuren. They're essentially a super-sized Keeshond. In my house they're known as the Malinois' hippy cousin...

Don’t reckon I’ll get a dog at this late stage in life. Never had much reason to have one. I guess it’s the “teddy bear” look of the Keeshond that I like.

The photo in my ping is the keeshond that belongs to FReeper Pride in the USA. She has two keeshonds, one of them a rescue dog. They’re beautiful dogs that delight in providing amusement to their people. They absolutely know when they’re doing something that makes you laugh, and you can tell how much that pleases them. I think of them as the clowns of the canine world. And, yes, they are certainly pretty.

Belgian Tervuren and Malinois are both beautiful breeds. I think they look more similar to a long-haired German Shepherd than they do to a Keeshond. Keeshond have the cobby, short-backed bodies, heavier legs, short muzzles, and curly tail - more like the Nordic breeds.

I was thinking the same thing: the puppy saw the dandelion as a mini-me version of itself, and it took him nearly a full minute to figure out he could just eat it to get it out of the way, and it wasn’t gonna resist.

I did a long term construction job in a house that had two fully grown Keeshonds, Ben and Jerry——the dogs would like to plant themselves in the doorways of the house, settle in and not move for a half hour at a time, and once I
had to step over Ben, who wouldn’t move out of the way in the BR/Hallway doorway-—soon as I stepped over him, he got up and ran immediately to the next doorway, between the Hallway and Kitchen,
and planted himself THERE, so I’d have to step over him AGAIN to get into the kitchen. He apparently knew my Itinerary, just as I knew his Agenda.

Stop tempting me. They are the cutest animals. I’m too old to deal with dog hair.

LOL! Okay, I’ll make it easier for you not to be tempted. This is the Gospel truth: the Keeshhonds shed more than just about any breed I’ve ever been around. :-)

Isn’t that the truth? But, they make up for it with the best doggone personalities in the canine world.

I used to know a lady who collected the combings from her 3 Keeshonden. She would spin it into yarn and would knit sweaters out of it.

And Kudos to everyone for spelling the breed correctly! There’s no “u” in Keeshond, even if they do look like the Norwegian Elkhound.
