It’s the fundamental human sin. It’s always been that way.

JG Ballard Predicted Social Media In 1977

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Late to the party.
Social Media has been around for thousands of years. From tribal drums, to smoke signals, to sending mail, to the telegraph and telephone, to computers and ....
Who knows what the future will bring.
But to have “predicted” this in 1977? Whatever.
You couldn’t be more right, CC. There’s a reason that Pride is considered a mortal sin, and I believe we’re seeing that play out.
I thought it was Andy Warhol when he predicted that everybody would get their fifteen minutes of fame.
I'm hoping mine is more along the lines of performing a dramatic rescue, and less along the lines of being a warning to others...
Neat.
He couldn’t predict the demise of “video-tape” though. ;d
The Jetsons had everybody smoking.
