My sister bought a house last year in Navarre, FL, but before we could go visit her she was deployed to Trashcanistan. She will be back in a few weeks and we are going to go visit her for a family vacation. It will be me, my wife, and my 3 year old son. I am just trying to see if anyone has been there to see what all there is that is family friendly to do. My sister said it is like Destin, but without the tourists. I don't know, I haven't been to Destin either.

If you want to see alot of the Air-to-Ground Range and Duke Field, watch John Wayne's Green Breets movie. That photo is on the ramp on Duke Field, looking south, towards Eglin AFB

Do you have something against southern gentlemen?

“Gentlemen” may stretch the definition too far for the first group that responded, but the second group (in the four wheel drive) definitely qualify. After all, they were Auburn fans, and they only stopped because they saw my AU t-shirt.

A little bit east of there, you could check out Highway 30-A, about 25 miles of coast hugging beauty with a number of neat little beach communities, one of a kind shops, and wonderful restaurants. And the beaches, as others have said, are absolutely world class. Take some really good sunglasses, lol.

A group of us took our kids to the beach when they wer 2 1/2 or 3. They had all been when they were smaller but didn’t remember. My friends son who was about 3 stopped, looked at the ocean and said..........that’s a BIG pool. We all laughed so hard.

The only time I managed to get a sunburn on the tops of my feet was in Navarre. I was in the Navy, and the Navy warned us about that!
