I'm on tap here at the Frat House (as it's been described), and when I'm not, I prefer Yuengling cans poured into frozen pint glasses, because I firmly believe cans do a better job of preserving carbonation. Maybe it's just me.

I’ve found Schlage keys work really well to open bottles if there’s not a bottle opener handy.

One of the bits in there used part of a beer commercial, though the entire commercial is pretty good.

A Ruger .22 auto makes a great bottle open. Remove magazine and clear action. Hold by barrel and use mag latch at bottom of grip to pry off cap.

When I was on the framing crew in my teens, we just used the claws of our framing hammers. Lotsa leverage.

I prefer my beer out of a can. But maybe it’s just because I have become so used to drinking it that way.

Also, I NEVER pour my beer. It breaks the body of the carbonation.

I do have a practical suggestion. If you think your flop top beer has been shaken up (and in some crowds that’s certain), if you tap on the top before you open it it won’t spray all over you.

If that is an urban legend I don’t care, it’s MY urban legend.

I used to use the ashtray on the door of a '69 Lemans...would pop the cap right off. A few decades ago. 8>)

I’ve seen people use disposable lights too but I’d never do that.
