I can only assume that he’s a crappy or mediocre coach and therefore needs to mask that with the “coming out” nonsense and therefore now he’s cemented his position forever. They can’t fire him.
Otherwise why make it an issue at all. His sexual behavior is something that should have no effect on the basketball program unless he’s gay with underage players.
Either way, it doesn’t make much sense to make something so private into something so public.....except that’s what militant homosexuals do.

The three coaches at my junior high school (’66-’69) were so inordinately interested in looking at us that we frequently talked about it. One of them occasionally “inspected” us as we exited the showers. It was a little creepy at the time and now I’d consider it very, very inappropriate.
To the best of my recollection they never said or did anything that suggested availability for sex, but then if you weren’t the target you probably wouldn’t know about it.
I’m going to guess that his going to a LGBT or whatever it is to indicate they’ll do anything that moves pretty much answered any unanswered questions anyone might have had on the subject. Because I guarantee that he noted down the attendance at the conference for his continuing education requirements with the district.
