Is There a Search Engine Uncorrupted by the Obama Admin?

Is there a safe search engine? I am not that computer savvy but would love to know if there ar ANY search engines that haven't rolled over for Obama's Big Brother Government.

What does everyone else use? I was furious when I read that, before the last election, Google was using searches of users to identify the undecided voters and target them with pro-Obama stuff.

I use Startpage for all searching. It does not record your IP.
Startpage results come from the back door of other search engines...www.Startpage.com

Another vote for ixquick

They don't record IP address and you can open the page via proxy if you'd like......however, sometimes you can't use certain functions in the target webpage in the proxy mode.

I have also heard that.

I do not know for a fact, that is the truth, but they claim so.

I suspect that Ixquick and startpage are one in the same.
Their home pages are identical.

That is also my understanding.

I believe they were originally ixquick, then changed to startpage (also) when that better word became available.

AFAIK it is the same search engine.

I don’t trust any of them. But I don’t care if they track me either. My philosophy hasn’t changed in the last 40 years.

No, it’s true that nothing is completely safe, but I recommend StartPage.com

There are a few that claim to protect your privacy such as DuckDuckGo and IxQuick but unfortunately Google is still faster and provides better results for most searches. I think a more effective way to stick it to them is to block trackers and cookies so they get no benefit from your use of their site. The industry is rather freaking out lately about Firefox's plan to make tracker blocking easier - http://articles.washingtonpost.com/2013-06-19/business/40061905_1_mozilla-firefox-web-netmarketshare
