Less than a month after Will Smith’s “After Earth” crashed at the box office, Sony finds itself in another predicament with Roland Emmerich’s “White House Down.”
The $150 million action thriller, starring Channing Tatum and Jamie Foxx, is the studio’s most expensive film of the summer but may debut as poorly as fourth place this weekend with a projected $27 million.
Not only are the early estimates soft for a project Sony bought in a record spec deal for $3 million in 2012, it’s actually worse than this year’s other White House thriller, “Olympus Has Fallen,” which opened to $30.8 million for FilmDistrict on a much smaller budget ($70 million).

Too bad. I went today and it was fantastic. Struggling? It made 9 million on Friday alone. I guess people went to the Heat where every other word was the F word. Oh well. I loved White House Down. It has nothing to do with Obama. Gosh you guys think every black person is Barack Obama....lol.
Usually you figure that they put some of the best moments in the ads, based on that there wasn’t a thing I saw to make me part with money. I don’t think I’ll watch it on DVD either.

Actually it does have to do with Obama - that’s the line the media is quietly pushing. I saw an interview of the actress playing the president’s wife. The reporter started off with something like, “So, you’re playing Michelle Obama.” Those were the first words out of her mouth.
A reality movie would show BHO in a burqa, of course. Not thinly veiled.

He said earlier in the year “Black people are the most talented people in the world.”

Jamie Foxx was outstanding in the movie. Who cares what his politics are. You go to a movie to enjoy it not worry about some politics. Good grief. Conservatives never make movies but sure do complain. Oh that is right. They made the biggest bomb in the history of movie making. An American Carol.....I would go see anything compared to that crap. I want conservatives to make good movies. I really do....but they don’t have the ability too for some reason.

Boy was that a lame “Die Hard” copy. Did have lots of action to cover the plot holes though.
They should have held the release of this until ‘olympus’ had passed. The morons movies are made for- it wouldn’t have been a long wait.
I saw an interview of the actress playing the president’s wife.
lol. Not to give anything away, but she is in the movie 30 seconds......I guess you believe the media hook line and sinker.

Jamie Fox was already paid. In fact, he would have been paid even if the movie made 0 dollars (literally). He was really very respectful in the movie towards the little girl was was the daughter of Channing Tatum and of course Channing Tatum.
I saw Independence Day....boring! This is much better. It is actually a thriller.
People are tired of garbage dressed up in computer graphics: epic cinematography, but the stench remains.
