Subbing for mylife...
Gun Talk Ping List...
Hello CH, how are you this evening?
Good evening dt; how are you this fine Sunday evening?
I can’t get GT to play on Opera, but it’s playing on Firefox. Talking on one, listening on another. Heh. I installed AdBlock and Ghostery, and Opera’s not happy.
He’s had a rough week; hate to see him miss it.
Here’s a 4:34:14 version of “Gettysburg”. Amazing movie; I’m only an hour into it.
Life is good here this evening. I’ve got Blue Bell Banana Pudding Ice Cream!!!
There’s a new movie by the same guy came out yesterday.
Lucky guy! I didn’t get out to food shop today, so all I’ve got is Jello-O and Tapioca Pudding.
On the iTampad because the stupid adapter broke on the MacBook.
That looks really good! I’ll watch the trailer. Peter Fonda? I didn’t know he was still alive.
LMBO! Busy fingers...
I have the version with angled eyepiece. 18-38x50mm. Seems to work well, but haven't taken it to the range yet. Looked at Saturn with it the other night and the image was fairly crisp and clear, though pretty small at only 38x. Put a 5M air rifle target on the fence (bullseye is size of a penny) and looked at it from about 50 ft. away. Was able to read all the small text on the target with no problem.
Got it from Sportsmans Guide
Lots of nasty weather headed up this way, right thru your area:
We got hammered last nite.
How hot is it out your way? I can’t even imagine the kind of heat/humidity combo you and AZ and the rest of the west/southwest go thru.
AdBlock & Ghostery disabled now; GT is finally playing.
If you haven’t seen God’s and Generals, you’ll have to watch it too.
That is sweet looking, and it sounds like it’ll do well for you! Did you get a tripod with it?
Multi-media deprived, but thought I’d drop in and say “hi”.
Picked up a new toy last week - a Springfield M1A SOCOM 16” barrel .308. Unfinished walnut stock arrived Friday. Got some fittin’ and finishin’ to do this week. :)
I nodded off LOL
That’s the one I bought!
What the heck is going on? *wipes eyes*
No tripod, but I have a small tabletop tripod that I got with another cheap scope that will work for the range.
I have an old Star-D camera tripod that’s a fairly decent one, but it has a 3-way head that’s not easy to use with a spotting scope, so will need to find something better to use for birdwatching and spying on the neighbors... LOL.
That’s a nice one!
It’s been 104 and 105 the last 2 days. Today wasn’t so bad, we got rain last night.
Zimmerman got out of his car to look for an address number that he could give to the police, not to follow TM. Dispatcher even asks GM if he can still see TM and then GM says ‘no’ and dispatch asks if he can get to a place where he can see him.
That’s a nice scope, it must be, they sold out of them.
It’s much better than mine, that’s for sure.
No kidding? So how do you like yours?
Any advice on a tripod?
Hey there Meyer.
That sounds so great.
308 is so great.
I am farkin jealous.
I will; thanks. I’ve been thru Gettysburg 3x and Antietam 1x, on tours. The CW History is fascinating.
Here’s another one:
“Lincoln and Lee at Antietam: The Cost of Freedom”, also narrated by Ronald F. Maxwell, director of “Gettysburg” and “Gods and Generals”.
We just had a hugh storm. More to come.
Is it against the law to get out of your car?
Is it against the law to give someone a lookover?
Is it against the law to not listen to what some $12 and hour dispatcher says?
This trial is a joke.
Good evening. Wow; that’s going to be a fun project! Next to .50cal, .308cal is my favorite “reach out and touch someone” round.
Hey gang, I am sorry I nodded off and appreciate that yall filled in, now let me fill you in.
We now sport a 100yd, 200yd,330yd 400yd and 500yd range down here
Steel gongs on the 400 and 500 yard ranges.
I was gonna go there this AM and take pictures and pop a few rounds off but, I was busy chin waggling most of the day.
At any rate the range is looking very nice for the 9th annual TCMS
I WILL do a recon and post pics this 4th July.
Howdy, mylife! Welcome back. Try a little cold water on the face and eyes. I forgot to put the “On Tonite’s Show...” content preview up; here it is:
“This Week on Gun Talk Radio”
SAF, A Girl and A Gun
Mandeville, LA Its SAF vs. MAIG, a national shooting league for women, and more, this week on Tom Gresham’s Gun Talk® Radio, the original nationally-syndicated radio talk show about guns and the shooting sports.
After Tom Gresham reported that NYC Mayor Bloomberg uses public funds to support his Mayors Against Illegal Guns group on Gun Talk last Sunday, a listener suggested that a FOI request needed to be sent. Gresham agreed, and went to Second Amendment Foundations Alan Gottlieb (http://www.saf.org) and CCRKBAs Dave Workman (http://www.ccrkba.org/). Together, they filed the requests, and are waiting for the results (http://exm.nr/13aNGSx). SAF also requested that the NY Attorney Generals office investigate the Mayors office and the report that city employees are working on MAIG campaigns (http://exm.nr/10nYkS4). Gottlieb drops by this Sunday to discuss the most recent developments.
Also stopping in this Sunday is Julianna Crowder, President and Co-Founder of A Girl & A Gun Womens Shooting League. Currently in 19 states, A Girl & A Guns mission is To educate and encourage women about firearm usage, safety, and promote women’s shooting interest and participation in the competitive shooting sports. Yeah, I love the .308 caliber. Also have a Savage bolt action in .308, but something tells me that it will see very little use once I get tuned in to this Springfield.
I wonder how long it will be before I start looking at match sights and that kind of thing. The options are endless.
I guess I’d probably do best to get it into the new stock and get more familiar and proficient with operating it.
50 cal would be very nice, but it’s a bit pricey. Still, love to give it a try some day.
I was yapping with the brother all day and finally signed off an hour before post time to get ready for the show, then I promptly nodded off LOL
Forecast says all that is going to pour-up here from the Gulf for the next 2-3 days. Multiple warnings posted on all the weather sites:
***SEVERE WEATHER WATCH***
***SEVERE T-STORM WARNING***
***FLASH FLOOD WARNING***
Sweet! I wish "down here" was in Southeast Tennessee. I could really use the 200+ yard ranges (though there is a 200 yard range near Cleveland, TN).
Hey, that sounds great!
You are forgiven.
People talk about the 22 shortage, but I have not seen any .308 in a dogs age.
That is a real workhorse round, and it is in short supply.
We got BBQ grills down there too!
The place is shaping up good.
Just got a 200 round sealed pack in .308
I’ve seen some .308, but it’s not cheap.
It's starting to show up again here and there. I've got quite a bit of 308 at home, plus I've got some brass, 155 gr boattails, a couple of pounds of decent powder, primers, and dies. Although I'm a little green at reloading, I can and will start making a few rounds myself. I've been working up some pistol rounds to gain some good reloading habits, but these rifle rounds are a bit more involved.
I really wanted to check it out this AM
Some guys opened this http://b-tactical.com/ right down the street from Mickey and I think he is improving his range as a response to them horning in on his regular shop.
At any rate we have lots of new shooting down here.
Mickeys range still rocks.
He is the best
