To calm city in preparation for Zimmerman verdict.
Cops are going door-to-door in an American city again, only this time at least they are knocking on doors instead of knocking them down.
The most recent example of a police-state presence is developing even now in Sanford, Fla., where neighborhood-watch participant George Zimmerman is on trial for murder for the death of teenager Trayvon Martin.
Police say they fear the backlash from the community which could develop at the point the jury verdict is delivered. Los Angeles had days of rioting when the Rodney King verdict came down.
So Sanford Police Chief Cecile Smith confirmed officers are going door-to-door talking to people.
“Our worst fear is that we’d have people from outside the community coming in and stirring up … violence,” he said.

Load all your magazines and weapons. Have several days of food and water at hand (you should anyway). Be ready to defend yourself and your loved ones. If they riot, let them kill each other off and destroy their property. If they come after you and yours, defend it. No assistance, no help to replace their things that they destroy in a childish tantrum.

Obama said Trayvon could have been his son AND the DA had her grandstanding press conference to announce murder charges...trust they’ll both well bemoan a not guilty verdict.
My impression of the shot was similar. But, then again, I wonder if that particular shot was used by the media just because it telegraphed what you described.

The way to forestall any riots is to go door to door to the houses of Ben Crump, Natalie Jackson, Alvin Parks, Sybrina Fulton, Tracey Martin — handcuff them, arrest them, indict them.
We live in north Mississippi & I stopped going to Memphis years ago. It is crime central and the old mall I used to love (Oak Court) just isn’t worth it.
Should be riots if Zimmerman loses.
Mob verdicts do exist.

Remember when the police were acquitted in the Rodney King beating? LA exploded.
After the acquital comes down Obama will go on TV and say “put the hurt on whitey” or words that signal it and I am expecting “unrest” in a lot of the major cities. We are planning to LAL and stay home the night of the verdict.
Maybe it will work.
Doesn’t anyone remember “if I had a son...” comments from our turd of a president? I lay much of the problems at his feet.
There really isn’t any telling of what the ‘provenance’ is I guess. However, with the police being so authoritarian so much of the time, the demeanor of the LEO is entirely understandable. It looks like he’s pulled the poor guy over for a drug stop when all the dude was doing is checking his mail it seems (letters in hand).
