A Caucasian caucus?
We need a Lazamatz Caucus!
I’d hit it.
Good point. How do you create a caucus on FR?
Heres an “Evangelical Caucus” Thread
I really don’t get the whole Caucus concept. How do I qualify to post on a caucus thread?
and an LDS/Mormon Caucus thread:
Ok, 2010. Good example.
2011. Nice example,.
Only members of the group whose caucus is noted should post on a Caucus thread.
How do I prove that?
The examples I posted are the first ones that came up when I did a web search for the words “freerepublic” and “caucus”.
What? did you specify an anti-chronological search?
You're from Minnesota..I thought you would be posting on the Lutheran Caucus.
I’ve seen LDS, Orthodox, Evangelical and Catholic caucus threads.
FR has a search function. You could probably find examples by typing ‘caucus’ into the search box?
Actually I tried that. No luck.
Well then you are a bigot.
I started a streptococcus but no one showed up.
Interesting. What’s the process?
Search on title. You’ll find results displayed in reverse chronological order.
And you have no sense of humor.
"There's a caucus thread on this but of course no one but Romans can comment on it."
BTW, I am guessing from your above comment on another thread which I put in "quotation marks" that you're not a Papist. Is there a Caucus that you wish to create, or what?
i was going to start a caucus but the damn iowans demanded to go first.
I don’t get the whole concept of a caucus. Apparently all it does is give you the right to whine to the religious moderator.
IIRC, the denominational caucuses came about in 2004 or thereabouts as a means to control a lack of civility on the religion forum.
Only members of the group whose caucus is noted should post on a Caucus thread. What are you/they afraid of?
Is there also a Muslim Caucus?
It isn’t working.
Is there also a Muslim Caucus?
I don't post on the religion forum, so I can't answer your questions.
It's all big joke.
A Catholic priest and a 10 year old boy walk into a bar.
You take it from there bucky.
FR supports the concept of Free Association, and so it supports the concept of caucuses.
The concept of a caucus is like the concept of a meeting. Some people like to meet in a room to focus on a specialist subject relevant to the group.
You will often find this in businesses or in the workplace. They will often have a meeting and not invite everyone in the building to attend.
Caucuses on FR tend to be religious in nature, because FReepers already share the same political views but don’t share the same religious views.
You can easily start your own caucus if you wish. Start a thread and put ‘XXXX caucus’ in the title.
Wrong. Obviously. If you are in a private room why do I have to listen to the conversation?
Ok I tried it. Lets see what happens.
A caucus tag is like a sign on a door saying 'meeting in progress'.
In your workplace - when you walk by a meeting room where there is a meeting in progress - what do you do?
Do you walk on by? Or do you hammer on the door and yell Shut up in there, I can't concentrate on the voices shrieking in my head!
Given your erratic posts on this thread - your own thread! - I am actually wondering if you do exactly that.
I'm off to work now. Enjoy the day.
Didn’t the Mormons lose the right to have a Caucus since they abused it all the time?
Haven’t reached your quota of Catholic hate for the day apparently.
There’s a vegetarian caucus. Your keyboard will be checked for fresh chicken grease.
No Catholic hate here. They are very sensitive to outsiders. I was a bit taken aback by that since whatever I responded to was that moment at the top of my screen in my face. Oh well. I do subscribe to Catholic Memes on FB and participate is other ways.
Not “afraid” of anything, just tired of the SAME people trashing our faith with the SAME lame arguments on EVERY thread. The kind of people I’m talking about aren’t really interested in communication, but in scoring points against a group they consider “The Enemy,” so it doesn’t matter (to them) whether you refute their arguments or not, they’ll just keep at them, or trot them out on the next thread they find.
There used to be an LDS caucus. I have also seen Dispensationalist caucus and I think there was also a Jewish one. If you want one that works for you, go ahead and form it and see whether other Freepers would like to participate.
There was a Unitarian Caucus, but they were never quite sure why they were there.
iirc, there was a Jewish caucus at some point but too many non-Jews came on telling us to convert out or go to hell.
There used to be a UFO caucus, but he was banned.
The reason for the Caucus threads is to discuss issues pertaining doctrine, etc without having to deal with folks like the threadstarter.
The threadstarter is angry because he can’t trash the thread.
Catholics tend to stay out or respect threads directed at evangelicals, etc so there hasn’t been a need for as many threads.
