Having seen the film, it doesn’t glorify them at all. It’s a pretty acidic condemnation of Millenial pop/materialist culture.
Bingo. My teenage daughter came away from the film talking about the utter emptiness and shallowness of celebrity culture.
Specifically the celebrities those kids were targeting. Paris Hilton, Reality TV stars. It’s not like they breaking into Kevin Kline’s home.

Everytime I see pics like this I ask myself....why are they walking out of their shoes? I would have blisters all day long.
and yet she strolls blissfully along, looking radiant, fresh, fashionable, etc....

The big question the film tackles is:
Who is more stupid?
Those who post their obnoxious wealth and trinkets on social media, yet do not have even basic security in place?
Or those who repeatedly rob them of that wealth and expect to continually get away with it?
Either way. It’s great grist for scathing social and cultural satire!

I’m hoping this film opens in the Czech Republic, as I’d like to see it. Sofia Coppola is a good director, and I’ve heard good things about this film.

I once observed, apropos a picture of Jennifer Lopez in her underwear, that her shoes were two sizes too small. I got dozens of responses of, “What shoes?”
She’s also the polar opposite of the sort of people depicted in the film. Cultured and low key. She treats the teens in the film like specimens under a petri dish.
