What is it with bicyclists?
07-05-2013 | Me

It's bad enough looking at these idiots in their colorful tight spandex garb and the stupid looking shoes they wear but are most bicyclists ignoramus's who think they own the road?

Here I am sitting at a red light and to the opposite side of the intersection, there are 7-8 bicyclists turning left to ultimately be in front of me. My light turns green and as I approach the cyclists, everyone one of them is darting in and out of their bike lane causing me to brake, then go, then brake, etc. to the point I couldn't go around them without going into the lane to my left that was congested with cars. A couple times I had to float over the middle line to avoid these dumbasses.

I'm not a cyclist but is it that hard to stay in a bike lane and/or are these just stupid liberal California cyclists?

They know better than to act like that in Texas. We have a phrase for bicyclists here:

Speed Bump

Most of them are probably “Critical Mass-holes”

They are Marxists on Bikes

They are taking over Colorado also. They don’t own the road but they are better than car drivers and arrogantly steal our road rights.

Yes, they really are a separate breed. I'd estimate most are libertarians - the rules don't apply to them.

The rest are liberals.

I believe the law is virtually the same for cyclists as far as rules of the road goes. Unfortunately, most don’t follow them and the cops don’t ticket them.

Don’t hit one though. That will definitely be your fault.

When I see them riding on the road in their bright spandex, with no backback or saddlebags, I see that they are PLAYING IN THE STREETS, not commuting to work. Congesting traffic, not obeying traffic laws, and becoming a menace to other drivers.

I’m ashamed to say it, because I love biking, but road bikers are among the most arrogant people on earth. Only runners come close to matching their self-righteousness.

Sometimes as I pass an especially arrogant one, I’ll blast the horn just as I’m right next to him.

There is a 50 MPH road that goes to my place of work.
That employer employs 5K.
When do the idiots in spandex ride that road 3 abreast?

That’s right. When a few thousand people leave work.

Local constabulary does. They enjoy ticketing them.

I ride for PT and to run local errands. I stay off the main roads, follow the rules, and ride defensively.

I dang sure don't wear spandex.

If you live in California, you should know that bicyclists are a protected species of vermin like the Kangaroo Rat only more obnoxious.

All the urban cops know that any attempt to apply the law to them will result in the stagnation of advancement, or outright termination.

Come on, runners aren’t nearly the pains in the butt that cyclists are, are they?

I’ve put in my miles as both, and the cyclist attitude re: cars on the road has always bothered me. Their view is that they are vulnerable to cars and because the only carbon dioxide they’re emitting is from their lungs they are morally superior, so they are entitled to go against lights, swarm intersections, ride abreast so as to keep from being passed, etc., etc..

They are helping to save the earth from melting so they are obviously smarter and better than us. LOL! They gripe about auto drivers being rude but they are by far more un-safe because of the way they ride.
