WASHINGTON (CBSDC) – A new study finds that longtime marijuana use lowers motivation and reward-seeking behavior as the brain produces less dopamine.
In a small sample test, researchers in the United Kingdom scanned the brains of 19 long-term marijuana smokers along with 19 nonusers of the same age and sex, measuring the distribution of chemicals throughout the brain via positron emission tomography.
Marijuana smokers were found to produce less of the “feel good” chemical dopamine than their counterparts over time.

I’m 68, nearly. When I was in college we already called the weed suckers ‘dead-heads’ because they had no motivation for succeeding at anything. Most flunked out of college using the ‘I’m oppressed by the man’ mantra as their excuse for their uselessness.

Well, I guess the Muslim Boston bomb terrorist make the grade since government gave them and their families hundreds of thousands of dollars in tax paid rewards..
They say that marijuana kills your motivation, but I don’t believe that.
It’s just that when you’re stoned, you realize it’s just not worth the freakin’ effort.
And it took a group of egghead researchers, probably with a ton of government grant money, to figure out what everybody else knew all along.

I would guess most everyone in govenrment would totally fail here..
But they get tax paid raises anyway, don't they?

There’s different kinds of weed, vis-à-vis, their effects.
There’s “Working Weed”, which is highly motivational. Good for lifting weights, working around the house, tossing the Frisbee etc.
Then, there is “Chillin’ Weed”.
Good for reading, listening to music, sexual intercourse, contemplating one’s navel etc.
Then, of course, there is Scotch Whiskey. Completely legal, readily available and....what were we talking about?
Oh gee, they just figured that out?
