NY School Dumps Michelle Obama Food Plan After Kids Complain of Hunger

New York’s Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake school district has become the latest casualty in first lady Michelle Obama’s preferred lunch plan, dropping the menu after too many students complained of hunger.

“[Food service manager Nicky] Boehm and her staff worked hard to implement the new regulations, but there were just too many problems and too many foods that students did not like and would not purchase,” said Assistant Superintendent Chris Abdoo about the National School Lunch Program in a statement reported by EAGNews.org. “Students complained of being hungry with these lunches and the district lost money.”

Undaunted, the nattering nabobs from the nanny state will soon be pushing Greek yogurt on the starving schoolkids.

U.S. Sen. Charles Schumer says New York is one of four states chosen to participate in a U.S. Department of Agriculture pilot program to purchase Greek yogurt for schools.

"Yeah, this is her fifth sundae.
Why do you think she exercises all the time?"

What is it with Greek yogurt? I notice that it’s more expensive than Dannon, and way more expensive than store brands.

The very idea that children have the same nutritional needs as a fifty-year old overweight black woman is narcissistic beyond belief.

Hey. those are almost the same word my wife said when I showed her the illegal aliens woman's food plan for kids.

She ended by saying "God help her two girls".

I’d think the kids would eat the greek yogurt, as long ias it’s covered with hot fudge sauce and whipped cream, and has some Oreos on the side.

Greek yogurt has the whey strained out so it has less sugar, fewer carbs and more protein. It’s thick and tart.

It's made with cream and milk. Reg yogurt is milk only.

Frankly, I'd rather have real raspberries and real cream as a treat.

To me....yogurt is just another junk food.

Lately my second breakfast has been a cup of Cabot 10% milk fat plain Greek yogurt with 3 or 4 tablespoons of locally made honey. Eat your fat, it’s good for you :)

I think there is a “chew” factor in our eating. Yogurt is baby food.

Moose should follow the food plan she wants to force on the kids.

Government has no place in the schools, at all.

“do what I say, not what I do” and “good for thee, not for me” comes to mind with the 0 administration and Moochelle.

They can have goats and take care of them...milk them....butcher the extra ones for low cholesterol meat and make their own Greek yogurt....and some Feta cheese....

Here is the big picture. Michelle Obama was educated as a lawyer (and voluntarily surrendered her law license), but she has NO training as a dietitian or in nutrition. Yet, people think Moochee is an absolute genius when it comes to feeding people. [Why is it her husband hits the fast food places whenever he can escape her clutches?]

At the same time as Moochee lectures the peasants about good and healthy eating, she pigs out and has a caboose the size of the U.S. Standard Rail Gage of 4 feet 8.5 inches. Can anyone spell hypocrite? [I knew you could.]

I am a lunch lady and unfortunately have to serve this horrible food. I blame the schools for having become so dependent on the government that they don’t know how or don’t want to get off the merry go round. At my school we serve about 400 kids. Less than 20% receive free/reduced lunches. I have told my supervisor that if the school would just absorb those kids, they could serve what ever they want and would easily make up the difference in new and added revenue. They just don’t get it. The government gives these hand outs so they feel obligated to take it.
