The Washington Post reports that a Maryland couple has no regrets about a decision they made to allow their 5-year-old daughter to live as a boy. Now 6, Tyler (formerly known as Kathryn) has been living as a boy after his family made a public switch 18 months ago when Kathryn insisted she was really a boy. A psychiatrist told the family that the switch would be healthy if they allowed Kathryn to pick a boy's name and if they were to able find a kindergarten that would allow them to enroll the child as a boy. Tyler's mother said "It's not a phase. Anyone who meets him says, 'Yeah, that's a boy.'"
According to the report, the transition has been somewhat seamless:
Whenever the family watches television, Tyler roots for the boy characters.
His home looks like a house with a son. Karate gear, soccer balls, cars, trucks and pirate swords abound. At school, he's a boy. Plain and simple.

If a mother allows her son to be raised in dresses, she is advancing her sick and twisted ideology.
I hate saying this, but I’m pretty sure this isn’t an isolated incident. Weren’t there a few of these stories popping up recently?
My 5-year old daughter insists she is a velociraptor or t-rex, depending on the day. Guess I should just let her be what she says she is.

It would be better for them to be thrown into the sea with a millstone tied around their neck than to cause one of these little ones to stumble.
These people need to grow up and be parents. Good grief!

One of my children behaved like a dinosaur at that age, too.
I guess we should help our children get in touch with their inner dinosaur (or kitten) because, obviously, they are just dinosaurs (and kittens) born with the wrong bodies. I mean, if the child believes it is so, it must be so. *

You do realize that until Churchill’s time... little boys wore dresses until age 3-4... and ribbons in their hair.
Had nothing to do with sex at all, children and babies were seen as pretty and angelic. Think about why baptismal gowns are unisex.
And...I’m pretty sure Churchill would have happily explained it had no effect on his manhood.
give her a raw steak and see what happens... if she picks it up with her hands, eats it and likes it, maybe she is! 8^)
One of my daughters said she was a purple cow at one point. Her brother (2 years older) has never let her forget it. They’re both in their 40s now.
Good thing we didn’t have to paint her purple and send her to school with a cowbell around her neck!
