Still doing “Blacklisted by history”, And Iain Banks’ last one. I think the cancer had reached his brains. Some good communistt sci-fi folks, but soonerf or later they always make their genocidal stuff into usermanuals..

Just finished “Fey” and “StarFire (Vince Lombard)” by Mike Lee. Almost done with “Horker’s Law (The Six Books of Magic” also by Lee. All decent reads, fairly conservative themes, too. The Kindle versions have typos (not sure if that’s the fault of the Kindle or the Publisher). Next up is Ender’s Game.

Just finished two good ones: Orwell’s “Homage to Catalonia” on the Spanish Civil War. His diary on his participation — short, good read.

Zac Unger “Never Look a Polar Bear in the Eye.” Polar bears NOT in as much trouble as Gore might have you believe. World Wildlife Fund found the cute polar bears to be a great advertising icon and progagandized the issue. Very enlightening. Hiarious (at times).

Now reading: Former Liberal and Playright David Mamet’s “The Secret Knowledge - On the Dismantling of American Culture.” Back cover blurb by Victor Davis Hanson
“He shows liberalism, at least as it is now practiced. to be a sort of pop religion for plagued souls seeking their own redemption through insidiously bothering the lives of more happy others.”

I've heard that this is a great read, if you enjoy being outraged by the current situation:

Amazon: Dangerous Diplomacy: How the State Department Threatens America's Security
"...investigative reporter Joel Mowbray exposes the hidden agendas, mixed allegiances, and outright anti–Americanism that has infected the U.S. State Department. Relying on exhaustive interviews with State Department personnel and extensive research into State's publications, procedures, and recent history, Mowbray reveals an astounding pattern of shortsighted and misguided policies, compounded by an ingrained and self–criticism and correction."

Just finished The Wilder Shores of Marx and Farewell Fear by Theodore Dalrymple. Great stuff. Re-read The New Class by Milovan Djilas in preparation for my current read, The Fall of the New Class, also by him. It's basically why Communism never turned out the way Marx or the Marxists expected it to, by a guy who earned the right to say so.

I'm also reading The Sleepwalkers: How Europe Went To War In 1914, which sort of led to all the reading above. Slow, excruciating detail and scary as all git out because we're headed down a very similar road.

Let’s see, finished so far these last two months.

War of the Rats, The Book Thief, brave new world, pirates, a couple more.

War of the Rats was real good, Book thief was excellent writing.

Pirates was fun. Another good one I read recently was Pathfinder. Which reminds me I have to make another stop at the thrift shop to find a new couple of books. I’d be broke if I bought new.
