WOODBRIDGE, Conn. (AP) - A Connecticut woman has been charged with animal cruelty after authorities say she left her dog alone in a hot car with the windows rolled up and it died.

In our hot desert here, you’ve got legal problems if you even tie your dog up to the outside of your car during the summer.
There are times when traveling, where I have to leave the dogs in the car for maybe an hour. I always put all four windows down a few inches to get plenty of air in, and if its really hot and sunny, I park the car in a shady area and try to make sure that the shade stays over the car as the sun moves. I also have a reflective windshield sun shade. I always have a bottle of water and a bowl with, so afterwards they can drink.
If someone broke my car window to save my dog, I’d understand it and THANK them, although I’m not stupid enough to leave my dog in a closed up car in the boiling heat.

We’re kinda getting this all hyperbolic, aren’t we?
First of all, I don’t even HAVE a dog... and one of the reasons is, I think it’s right to have a dog if you can’t let it run wild. In my view, that makes me kinder to God’s creation than the majority of dog owners that “own” their dogs, fence ‘em or coop ‘em up in a house all day, etc. and then act like they’re holy above God’s HUMAN children, who many of them would abort on a whim. So take your self righteous assumptions and pack ‘em up in there deep.
Second of all, you’re assuming that ANY instance of locking a dog in a car is OhMyGod! Horrid! Vapors! deserving of a crime to stop it. Aren’t you? You set no distinction
Third of all, that mode of “I know best, I’m going to vandalize your property in the name of Almighty Dog, is kinda suspect as a Christian value... isn’t it? If not, explain.
Fourth of all... what exactly is a ball of God righteousness?

I value the safety of my person and property much more than I value the lives of the zero dogs that I own. And I’m pretty well fed up with those who decide they can do what they please with my property and my life because their delicate sensibilities are somehow offended.

The scary thing is people have left their children in hot cars and they have died because of it....
A small child was murdered in just that fashion in town this summer. They said the interior of that vehicle was 135.
