The long wait is finally over for visitors who have been yearning for a whiff of a giant flower that smells oddly like rotting flesh.

There is a similar flower which grows wild around her. It doesn’t get nearly that bit and it’s orange fleshy like flower is split into three parts but they come back together on the top.
It also has the aroma of something dead.

The US Botanic Garden is a beautiful facility just southeast of the Capitol.
That and putrescine(sp) are memorable experiences in any chem/biochem lab.
Butyric acid is up there too.
Basically any bottle labeled ‘WARNING, STENCH’ should probably stay closed.
How fitting - the whole area stinks.

I am volunteering with Samaritan’s Purse to help with the clean up of the Siksika Nation Reserve (Reservation in US phraseology), east of Calgary. On Friday, amongst gutting two flooded basements, we moved four fridges and/or freezers from houses that have had no electricity since the flood (June 22). Even with these units taped shut, N95 masks are required due to mould and bacteria. I can tell you, compared to that, the ‘perfume’ of this flower would be fresh like baby powder! Anyone who assisted in the recovery of NOLA from Huricane Katrina can testify to that!

I bet those Body Snatcher Pods and the flower from Day of the Triffids smell great compare to the stench from Obama. I remember someone stated the airplane smelled.
